New underground station and elevated station

  • I am going to rebuild the underground station and elevated station, useing ultimate station's approche


    I will start with underground station first


    So any wishes to get a better underground station is welcomed.


    I have already some baseline about the new underground station (difference to ultimate station):
    1. The platform ends are aligned, so they are not equal on curves, since I see in real world they are all aligned.
    2. Probably all platforms are based on the same length (no length variation)
    3. I don't know if I need to support displaced platform, that exists in real world but rare.
    4. No width variation since nearly impossible to create a varied width underground space in this game


    What I will implement in plan
    1. Internal station models, so the station will have decorated walls and ceils (I need examples)
    2. Internal structures (I mean colonms) (I need examples too)
    3. New entries (I need examples too too too..)


    So I need lot's of references...


    For elevated station, I don't have currently much idea, I want to make it not only in viaduct, but on retaining walls, the entry is in the lower level, maybe with suspended platforms over your head..in all examples are needed..

    This guy is too lazy to create a signature. 8o

  • One nice example for a decorated underground station with columns is in this mod: Stationen Pack Version 1.852 (Beta)
    It has also a nice approach for the person lanes (lanes between entry and platform), but you must not direct the camera tool into those person tunnels, because there is no texture and you can see through the surface.


    But I must admit that I like your stations more, because that example has switches at both ends that I don't need (in fact those construction make the station (not the platform) longer than I can handle them, eg. I can not leave the platform directly in a curve. And I cannot place entry and exit signals directly at the platform ends. And that station has a fixed depth, while yours can be build at 10, 15 and 20 meters.


    What I most adore for an underground station, that also your stations didn't support so far:
    - a "micro entry" with a "person only street connection". When I used your "micro entry" I run into problems when trying to upgrade the station or trying to upgrade the street (eg. equip it with tram tracks). I don't know how the street section of the micro entry could be improved but I bet there is a possibility.
    - I desperately miss the possibility to rotate also the first/upper/single level of the station in relation to its entry/street.
    - higher platforms or - better - being able to configure the platform height would be great.

  • Ok, the method works.


    Not only for flexible entries over underground station, but also we will be able to build a station incrementally


    See the image, I succeed to merge two stations.


    And all of sudden, I got many ideas to improve my retaining wall related mods

    But also for examples in China, Sweden and elsewhere I found impressive photos of greatful underground stations. From absolute awesome to simple and straight.



    Examples for elevated stations you can find in Europe a lot too. One of my favorite of older elevated train stops is Dresden-Mitte (Germany).

  • Find a way to inject radius and length information to an ultimate station, it will be possible to build a station of any length and radius without exploding the params menu!


    In a simple words, drag the track first, then you will have the station based on the existing tracks.


    So it will be helpful to build flying junctions and other curved mods

  • Great idea, provides quite a lot of new possibilities. Maybe I'll include that in my own station project (which has another way to allow customisation). I hope the increasing amount of mods, using the game.interface functions for customisation, will help to convince UG to improve these features.

    it is the new mod version... just updated today (version 1.11)... downgrading makes the savegame unloadable :-(
    is that intended? the game wants both versions... is there any way to fix?

  • downgraded correctly (manually) and disabled new version, works again.
    the new version does not work for me, neither build a station nor upgrade with catenary..
