Some said that we need the former Italian three-phase system "trifase" in Transport Fever, because it is an important chapter in railway history. Some said that this wouldn't be possible. But some said that you can reach any goal, if you really want to reach it. And this is why I am here.
Time to present you: The Italian Trifase Package!
This package contains the famous double-wire catenary and some of the electric locomotives used. This system was applied in Northern Italy on more than 3000 kilometres of track and used from around 1900 to 1976. It was known for being very energy-efficient, and the locomotives were very powerful. Power was regulated by ... mineral water , which became hot and caused these electric locomotives to steam when accelerating.
All locomotives that will be built are overhauls of MSTS-models. For most of them permission was already granted. The plan of locomotives isn't final, but it gives you an idea of what to expect:
Cargo locomotives:
- E.550 (1908) - WIP
- E.552 (1922) - permission granted
- E.554 (1928) - permission granted
Passenger locomotives:
- E.330 (1911) - finished
- E.431 (1922) - finished
- E.432 (1928) - finished
All locomotives will be available in black (older version) and brown (newer version), and with raised and lowered pantographs.
And if you still can't believe it, here is a preview of the catenary system:
The most important factor of this project is a perfectly working international teamwork, involving 3 countries:
- Italy (models, permissions, research) - Mauri, Renzo Grassi, Niels Picciotto, Enrico Onori
- Germany (catenary system) - Yoshi
- Austria (planning, putting everything together and ingame, improvements, sounds) - DomTrain
To all involved persons, thank you very much!!!
I hope you enjoy it. This is such an interesting chapter of railway history that just can't be missed out.
