It is the right tag.

The forum software provides you with a different namespace for tags as you have switched the display language to english. This stupid limitation unfortunately can't be solved on our side so Traffic Hamburg has to keep that in mind when checking for pictures.

Remi Gio this isn't really a fault on your side, but a misunderstanding. The quotation marks just mark the beginning and end of the Tag (or better the example for the tag). They are, however, not a part of the tag itself, so the right tag for this month should be Screenshotcontest 02/2021

Traffic Hamburg maybe you could change the quotation marks in the rules to Inline-Code - brackets, that would probably avoid future misunderstandings like this [tt]Hier steht Text[̸ tt]

Sorry about this, but this tag-system isn't really mature (as many other things in the WoltLab-forum software). Unfortunately nothing that the admins could fix, so we have to stick with those "not ideal" circumstances...

This one doesn't work either - there is only 1 other military airport with that tag.... and I have tried 5 different combinations. Seems even with correct tag it won't allow the picture to display where it should.

Since you are from Belgium and hence probably use the english version of the forum, the software assigns you the english version of the tag.

This is one of the limitations of the forum software - splitting one tag into several because of the used language settings.

This however will be checked by Traffic Hamburg and your picture will therefore still enter the contest - even if the tag just shows one other picture for you...

(this pic also was entered by an english user - if you use the tag from a german user, you'll find all the pictures but those two). So, just the limitation of the software, the Tag Screenshotcontest 02/2021 is right and your Picture will be in the contest with it

As I already said - this is suppose to be FUN with users showing their screenshots but if you are so NOT welcoming to any non-German speakers then your logic is perfectly clear to me.

Remi Gio , I think that there is something lost in translation here between the two of You.

Traffic Hamburg did not mean to attack You, he was just a bit surprised that You took the complicated route of uploading the picture twice (once to the gallery page and once separately to Your post).

As far as I understand this, and also having consulted the rules again, I don´t see anything You have done wrong or contravening what has been written. Neither do I spot any accusation of anything untoward directed at You. Such a communication in a language in essence foreign to both participants does have a slightly elevated probability of misconveying thoughts and causing unintended offense..

So let me suggest that there is no need to retract any entry due to a mere misunderstanding

Well, if I may also add my opinion to this as someone not involved in the argument but in the process:

You both have your points.

Technically Remi Gio is right, he would still have time until the very 20^th of February, 11:59 pm to upload his picture with the right tag to the gallery.

On the other hand, Traffic Hamburg can't tell if someone actually has read the rules and is planning on uploading the picture to the Gallery later. Mostly this isn't the case, so a brief hint to the rules will often do the job. (Also I can fully understand that it's tiring to type this conversation for the 1000^th time...)

This has nothing to do with being german or not, maybe you got the wrong gist there from my Post.

It's just the limitation of the forum's Tagging system that avoids showing all the pictures of all the languages in one tag.

This is nothing either Traffic Hamburg or anyone else in the forum can do something about, but as long as your Picture has the right tag, it will still participate.

The treatment about the conntest rules is also the same to everyone (in language and friendliness), i can tell that from experience.

I specifically do not want to make a judgement on who is right or wrong, paricularly because in my opinion that also isn't really posible in this case, so please just take this as an unfortunate situation and be patient with the other side

However, what you actually could do is upload your picture once in the Gallery and link to it in this thread (That also does work for mobile users). Here are two ways described to do this:

This may be not necessary, but would really ease finding your picture in the Gallery and also would avoid such situations as we all are in at the time. (also maybe it makes Stepke happy because less storage space is used )

Traffic Hamburg Yes, it might be the case that the picture wasn't uploaded in the gallery at first, but later the Tag actually was wrong because of the quotation marks, so changing that to the Inline-Code - brackets would probably avoid this in the future

Wenn ich meine Meinung zu dem Thema auch noch abgeben dürfte, schließlich war ich zwar an der Diskussion selbst nicht beteiligt, an der Entstehung aber schon.

Ihr habt beide irgendwie recht.

Technisch gesehen stimmt das was Remi Gio sagt, er hätte immernoch zeit bis zum 20.02., 23:59 Uhr um sein Bild in der Galerie hochzuladen. Andererseits kann Traffic Hamburg nunmal auch nicht vorhersehen, ob jemand tatsächlich die Regeln gelesen hat und das Bild später noch hochladen will, oder nicht. Da meistens letzteres vorkommt, ist ein einfacher Hinweis auf die Forenregeln daher meistens ausreichend. (außerdem kann ich verstehen, dass es nach dem 1000sten mal nervt, das immer wieder aufs neue erklären zu müssen...)

Das hat nichts damit zu tun deutsch zu sein oder nicht, vielleicht hast du diesbezüglich eine falsche Sicht durch meinen Beitrag bekommen.

Durch die Limitation des Tag-Systems im Forum ist es leider nicht möglich, dass alle Bilder von allen Sprachen in einem Tag angezeigt werden. Das ist allerdings nichts, wofür Traffic Hamburg oder irgendwer anderes aus dem Forum etwas kann. Solange dein Bild den richtigen Tag hat, landet es aber auf jeden Fall im Wettbewerb.

Die Behandlung über die Wettbewerbsregeln ist übrigens auch jedem gegenüber gleich (in Sprache und Freundlichkeit), das kann ich dir aus Erfahrung versichern.

Ich möchte hiermit keine Aussage darüber machen, wer hier recht hat, vor allem, da das m.M.n. in diesem Fall auch gar nicht möglich ist. Nehmt das also einfach nur als unglückliche Situation und seid freundlich zum jeweils Anderen.

Remi Gio ich würde mich ungalublich freuen, dich wieder teilnehmen zu sehen, da ich dein Bild wirklich schön und gelungen finde. - Edit: gilt auch für Traffic Hamburg

Was du allerdings tatsächlich tun könntest, wäre dein Bild nur einmal in der Galerie hochladen und dann hier verlinken (das geht auch in der Mobilversion). Hier sind zwei Wege, wei man das machen kann:

'Teilen'-Funktion

Das mag zwar nicht zur Teilnahme notwendig sein, würde aber das Finden deines Bilds in der Galerie aber deutlich vereinfachen und auch solchen Situationen, wie diese in der wir gerade sind, vermeiden. (Außerdem würde es vielleicht Stepke glücklich machen, da weniger Speicherplatz verbraucht wird )

Traffic Hamburg es mag sein, dass das Bild anfangs nicht in der Galerie hochgeladen war, später gab es aber tatsächlich das Problem mit den Anführungszeichen. Dem würde ein Wechsel zu den Inline-Code - Klammern vielleicht später vorbeugen.

Zuletzt: ich möchte hiermit niemanden verärgern, nur helfen
