Ah, good! ![]()
Did you use spec/gloss converted maps, or did you make the texture maps with spec/gloss channels originally with the spec/gloss shader ?

Yup they are, they actually have gradient but exporting the diffuse makes them black
This is screenshot from Substance Painter
I could take a look and see what's up if you could send me the painter projectfile.
If all non-German modders did that, Flux, there wouldn't be many mods.
The language barrier is real. Translating discussions in the browser is not particularly good because
1)paragraphs and links are broken - they all end up in a solid wall of text which makes it hard to read.
2) The translation seldom does a good job, thus I feel I'm losing a lot between the lines.
Thus I keep out of discussions. But post my work, all though, as Gwinda says, the sparking interest in making mods isn't always 'there', one reason being of the language barrier.
Alles anzeigenDear community, I had a brief talk with UG about how to distribute the Nordic DLC. UG is open for suggestions and I can see two alternatives here.
1) UG distributes the Nordic DLC as a free DLC through Steam.
2) Distribution through Train-Fever.net
Some question rises on how much control do we have if it is released on Steam? How often and how much work is it to release an update?
I think as a "DLC", it should be distributed through Steam. Or else it would be sort of a "mod pack" found on a 'hidden' forum for the most dedicated end users. What's the easiest for us the authors of the different models and mods should be second priority in my opinion.
Here's an idea. Let's say we have an update for things, yes, more 'work' to get the DLC updated through Steam because it has to go through UG. On the other hand, less work for the end user. Why not keep train-fever.net as an area to upload those updates, and IF there are any, someone (mediziner?) will - once a month tops - give the update to UG in order to update the DLC on Steam. Yes, a few hoops and hurdles, but.. Let's make it a quality DLC (with updates if needed) instead of a poorly done DLC with patches.
Then that's probably a mod that either isn't updated for the new way of installing mods, or there's something wrong with the info.lua file in the root of the folder for the mod.
I can't give you support on that. I would contact either the creator of the mod manager, or the creator of the mod itself about that issue.
I've Completely redone the UV mapping, fine tuned some parts of the texture, and successfully added animated doors.
Thanks for filling me in. Without testing it yet, I think I like the new method. More specific tasks for each train. More traffic. More trouble. More thinking and strategies.
I haven't had time to play much TF this weekend - and sorry if this is out of line in this discussion; but what exactly does the "new system" mean ?
Simply stunning ![]()
I've redone some texture work, adjusted the UVs and added a new sun screen. You may also see the model in 3D here.
I'm not familiar with Blender. Sorry! But you could check whether it's possible to paint directly on the model.
I use Substance Painter, and love it. It allows me to paint directly on the model, as well as use different filters that makes use of information from ambient occlusion, curvature and normal maps in order to add dust, grime, dirt etc. on the natural places.
Other similar tools are 3D Coat and Mudbox, all though I'm not familiar with their toolset.
You're getting there! How about some dirt, dust, weathering, grime etc?
A quick look at it this morning before I leave for he weekend.
I can paint it green as well, yes.
First version. Some details to fix or add. Will hopefully be able to make it done after the weekend. Got no time to deal with it before.
and a tad more work..
The UV map is crap at the moment, thus the textures aren't optimal but they're in the ballpark - I did this just to see how it'll look with textures, and will bring it over to the game now to see how it compares to the El 13. The reference images I found weren't of the best kind, so some things might need to be scaled different.
This morning I started on something new, something to match the El 13. This is an NSB B3 carriage from the 50's.
Uploaded for approval.
Streamed a few hours tonight. Remade most of the textures since all the geometry is just about done. What's missing now is adding decals, and then I'll convert the model for Train Fever. ![]()
Thanks! Windows isn't an option, as that would need a new license. I'm not paying for a license I'd use once a month tops, just to convert Train Fever models. ![]()
I'll check if I can get the Blender thing going.
