    Hullo Bastargre,

Glad to hear you're willing to take the NMBS into consideration. Would you be willing to repaint the existing Siemens Vectron into a fictional NMBS paint? The NMBS has EuroSprinters operating as NMBS Class 18; seeing as the Vectron is the succeeding model of the ES, it wouldn't be that far of a stretch. Picture below!

Another thing I'd suggest is a repaint of the EW IV into i11-based NMBS carriages. Again, the similarities are as close as you'll get considering the existing models. Pictures:

I'd also like to ask the modders in general if they'd be interested in refining a model I've tried to make myself. I tried my hand at the AM96, but it's still horribly lacking. If anyone would be willing to take it over and try to finish it (for €50 tops), I'd be truly grateful. Plus, the components of the AM96 can be used to create the i11 carriages as well, so it'd help a lot for further modding!

[If anyone could translate this into German, I'd be grateful!]

If I may add my two cents, I'd love the HLe 11...
There's already a great repaint for the NS ICR carriages out thanks to oppie [base model] and Yavianice [amazing repaint], but it lacks the Belgian NMBS E-lok that pulled the train. Adding it in would be allow me to have the first train that drove on Belgian soil as well in Train Fever (barring the Thalys). I can also provide modders with the schematics, pictures and videos, as well as be happy to test the mod as it gets developed.

I fully understand that it may be less interesting to this -wonderful!- community, seeing as the train was never used in Germany, but it would really mean a lot to me. I live in Antwerp, and as a kid, I always saw this train in Antwerp-Central. It always amazed me because of the different color, the unique (to Belgium) carriages it had, ... It would be very nostalgic, and using the carriages without the HLe 11 doesn't feel right.

You gave your two cents regarding the legal issues pertaining the DB ICE3 by Meister-Zogi and how they also prohibit reworking it into the Velaro RUS or Velaro with NS logos back when he seemed to be getting bogged down in legal issues. You also gave your two cents about how China doesn't care about patents and how the rules apply to the ICE brand and the Velaro design, how cookiestomper can deal with his ICE3 [prior to the go ahead of Zogi's ICE3] and 'blablabla'.

I suggest reworking the assets cookiestomper already has into the CRH3, rather than turning them into a ficticious train as he was planning. Considering -I assume- Cookiestomper hasn't notified NS/DB of his mod yet, it wouldn't be a stretch to pretend this was meant to be a CRH3 mod all along. That way, we'd have another real-life HST for everyone to enjoy, rather than keeping an NS ICE3 or to turn it into something fictitious. After all, while China does care about patent laws and how to acquire said patents, Chinese patents only reach as far as the borders of China itself. Considering the Velaro CN (CRH3CL version, not the earlier ones) isn't protected by the same patent as the ICE, Velaro RUS or Renfe, the CRH3 would lend itself to modding without hassle.

It simply doesn't make sense to me to scrap the work cookiestomper already put into his assets and his model, nor does it make sense to me to turn it into something fictitious when the community -including himself- has been putting out one high quality real life train after the other.

Balu_1182: Danke, sehr freundlich! I studied 4 years of German, so I think I can comprehend most of it (with Google Translate, if need be), but I fear I let my ability to speak/write it myself slip. Ich biete alle entschuldigung dafür. And yes, I fully agree. I wouldn't expect anyone to work 100% during holidays, but a small official statement saying they noticed this is an issue and they'll fix it as soon as possible would be amazing. I mean, Cities in Motion was also made by a studio of 6 people, but they replied in their forums at a daily rate. The official TF forums are... comatose, to put it politely.

Xanos: I can understand that reasoning. Plus, as the English saying goes, 'hindsight is always 20/20 (perfect)'. It seems to be a trend of theirs to try and find a 'definite solution' to problems and only emerge from the shadows when they have one (think traffic jam problems, vehicle renewal problems, ...). Guess we'll just have to wait. In the meanwhile, town #4 has become part of the 'main connection' overmind. Es fuhlt sich ein bisschen an wie die Borg, nein?

I have no problem with the idea behind the system, but it's just added in so, so horribly. Having to make sure there's a road connection between cities is fine and not overly annoying. I assume it's needed so the AI/KI can calculate whether road traffic would be worth it. But the bugs need to be cleaned up without having to start a new map. Things like what happened to @rct3lp and others in which every street becomes a main connection or the situation I have in which entire towns are now a main connection and don't allow any intervention anymore are borderline game-breaking. Especially when this spreads to towns I haven't touched in a decade or more.

Attachments related, I wanted to turn this into my main station, with ICE lines, Thalys lines, IC lines, Regio DB lines, ... but I can't do zilch anymore.

Although at this point, the wonderful community has already said all there is to say about this problem, I fear. I just hope they'll fix it (soon), I started a new map just to make it DB themed and use the amazing ICE3, but if more towns fall to this bug, I might just go and play something else. [At which point I rarely return to a game before a few years pass.]

PS: What happened to the equally amazing looking ICE (1)? Would love to use it, made a line especially for it.

Would a solution for the NS - ICE3 issue be to rework it into the China Railways CRH3? It's the same platform, yet manufactured in China. Plus, its official name is the Velaro CN, based on the Velaro platform used by Deutsche Bahn AG, RZD and Spanish National Railways (Renfe). I think that the legal protection on the ICE brand only extends to the brand itself, thus nullifying the approval of DB AG being needed. Secondly, Siemens only has legal claims to parts of the design considering how Chinese joint-ventures work regarding intellectual property. As it stands, Tangshan Railway Vehicles is building the Velaro CN, so there's that.

I understand that for my Dutch friends, seeing the ICE3 drive around with the NS logo would be stellar, but I (personally) would think it's more fun to have another real life high-speed train rather than having to rework it into a fictional ICE-but-not-really-please-don't-sue-DB/Siemens. It's just my two cents.

Hello Cookiestomper (and everyone else watching this thread),

So sorry for getting back to you this late, I've been a bit busy with my midterms that're coming up fast. I'm PM'ing you the technical drawings as soon as this reply sends!

Here's hoping more people'll be interested once the Deutsche Bahn (and SBB/FFS/CFF.. and ÖBB.. and Trenitalia?) have been taken care of! After all, I remain convinced there’s a few trains we have that’d look great amongst the amazingly detailed material already made here and elsewhere for the DB, ÖBB, NS and RZD by modders. Again, anyone willing to try their hand at them would make a lovely holiday gift and I’d be happy to paypal them a small amount for their time! Especially the HLE11, which would give the BeNeLux carriages the loc it should've had. I tried asking people on Fiverr, but alas.

Anyway, loving the community, the ICE3 by Meister-Zogi, the RE460, the Plan T, the BR101 of course, ...
It's all wonderful stuff, and I hope one day to see my favorite AM96 & AM75 riding along.

Lastly, I'd like to add 'Gutes Neues Jahr!' to everyone and please, don't be discouraged because your English isn't good, I studied German for 4 years, so I can more or less understand German, I just don't speak it. But between your English and my German, we should have enough of a common ground to make mods!

I noticed there's been quite some views, yet no replies. Perhaps that's because of a lack of imagery?

I also have technical drawings & data of all the aforementioned trains, carriages & locs, which I'll be happy to translate and send/post if anyone is willing to try and make any of these things come to life in Train Fever. It'd be amazing to have the HLE11 to complete the amazing BeNeLux repaint of the ICr material of the NS that's already been made. Another way of doing things might be to try the AM96, which would be a great EMU to have. It can also serve as the base for an I11 model considering they share tons of similarities externally. Add a HLE18/13 or Vectron repaint to the I11, and you've got a modern NMBS/SNCB train that can handle speeds of 200km/h!

Here's hoping someone's willing to try any of these on. As I mentioned before, I'd gladly donate €50 tops to any modder that'll make an NMBS trainset or an EMU a reality out of sheer gratitude, but I'm afraid I can't go higher than that.

    Regardless, thanks for reading!

    Hello everyone,

I'd like to first take some time to thank you all for this site and its community; it's been amazing to be able to download all these lovingly created models of DB & NS trains. I enjoy seeing them on my networks. However, as a Belgian, I was wondering if anyone would be willing or interested to try their hand at some of our models? I'd especially like:

    - The HLE 13 "Tractis" or a repaint of the wonderful already made Siemens Vectron into NMBS colours
(fictitious, but could be based off of our EuroSprinters (NMBS HLE 18 class))
    - The I11 or M6 carriages (ideally both!) with their control cars or 'steuerwagens'

That way, my small country would at least be able to see its most common, peak-hour trains represented in the game. If anyone is interested in making any of the following:

    - the AM/MR80 'Sprinter'
    - the AM/MR86
    - the Desiro ML
    - the AM/MR75

It would be fantastic too (especially considering the Desiro ML is rapidly becoming very common and the MR80/MR75/MR96 are really special to me personally), but they'd be more 'special treats' rather than mainline material considering their more limited amount & scope. I'd be happy to PayPal people for their effort, but I'm afraid that as a college student, I wouldn't be able to go over €25-50 or so per train, so it'd solely be as an incentive and to express my gratitude.

Here's hoping for some interested replies. Regardless, I'm enjoying all the models and repaints tremendously. And like many of you, I too await the ICE & ICE 3 with impatience. :)

    Raymond

PS: I purposely didn't add a German translation as my German is... appalling at best. I apologise.
