Yep, thank You, thats what I have been doing till I decided to creat my Train-fever.net account and ask the question, thanks 
The downsides of this method are:
- The time it takes to reach the desired year
- You have to do it for each new map you want to play (Unless you want to start a new game on the same map) 
Althought it could be difficult, the game is unplayable after 50 years or less (On my computer) so thats why I wanted to start later. But I dont still get why the devs couldnt simply add method of selecting a year not the half hundred you want to play in.

I really love train fever, but I would like to start in year 1975 or 2000 is it possible to edit the savegame file and change the date? Or do I have to fast forward it for 165 hours to get to later years? I think this is really retarded why didnt they add starting years like in OTTD (Any year from 1850).
