Gwinda, one question. In the older version of tfgm the green checkmark indicated that the mod was installed and activated. Now the mod gets installed but I have to activate them inside the game? I am missing something, right?

I have a small work around
go to:
..\AppData\Roaming\Train Fever Game Manager
delete this file folder, start TFGM new and set the correct path to the steam folder

Ok, tried this. TFGM does not crash this time at start, but, in paths, the path to steam/trainfever has this nice pink hue and then after clicking ok it chrashes saying invalid characters in path.
Edit: my bad, paths needs steam location not train fever location. Stephan is right, it works now.

I've just downloaded TFGM (latest version, checked) as well and I get the same issue, first a baseline creation warning, then a game exe not found warning, then a settings file not found warning and finally an "invalid characters in path" error that kills the program.
I'm available via PM and I'd even help out by screensharing if you'd like.
Let us know when the issue is fixed
I have exactly the same poblem.
I deleted everything I found, even bloody train fever in steam. Including my savegames.
Drove me nuts. 
Please contect me too with an updated version, gwinda.Regards, tia
