Hello,
I'm new here on the forum but i wanna share my experience as a retired modder. I was part of the Rome Total Realism mod for Rome Total War for many years mainly as a historical adviser (i am a trained historian) doing research, unit historical description, unit weapons, armor, political system, map and so on and some low level 2D (unit icons, adviser icons). Our mod was one of the best out there and was featured even on pc magazines, PC Gamer and IGN. We had tons of fans from all over the world and were at a time a big team. We had 3D and 2D artists, mapers, scripters, and so on. After years of working on it and 8 editions the team started to bleed members and the first to go were always the artists. Why? there were a number of reasons: fatigue, lost interest in the game, started other projects or found great jobs as artists. I saw this in almost every team out there and i think it is natural in a way. Some people just loose interest in the game. If we talk about appreciation they most certainly were, no doubt about it as without graphics artists we had no mod anyway. Of course not many said thanks but we always had a hard core that was active and gave us input, encouragements and so on. What kept us going was not only the appreciation of our fans but mostly our love of history and the joy of playing a game that was historical accurate. We didn't receive any surprising ammounts of donations, we barely managed to get enough for our webpage hosting. In the end what i wanted to say is that people who don't know how hard and time consuming is to mod a game have no ideea that sometimes request take time and if poeple have jobs and families is hard to make any progress. Sometimes even modders loose interest in the game and just get worn out. What's the worse thing for me is the attitude of some game creators as they seem to have no ideea that modders keep it alive and pump money steadily in their pockets for years go to come. What's even worse is when you see your work implemented in their new iterations of the game and without even saying "thanks" as it happened to our mod, RTR. As for this community i think the (mainly) german speakers should take in account that most europeans don't know any german and i bet alot of people who visit and download from this site have no clue what they are seeing written in the threads and comments. I for one would be lost here without google translate.
P.S. Sorry if my comment was beside the point or i digressed. In any case i'm sorry to see talented modders leaving.

Great news Michik! Have a nice time working on them, they are lovely looking engines and would make a nice addition. I'we remembered now the thread, i forgot about it most likely because it remained a project since spring. I was thinking it that it was abandoned or something. Anyway...great news. Thanks for the schematics, i'm sure they are going to be useful.

Hello again guys! I was thinking of narrow gauge engines again and came across an interesting model. It's the Plettenberg steam tram of the Sauerlander Kleinbahn. Here's some photos and videos of it. Looks really nice, engine and waggons.
It is made for 1000 mm narrow gauge and build by Henschel in 1927 (as far as i can figure out). It can reach 25 km/h. As far as i know we only have 1 steam tram in-game for the Viena tram. If anyone is interested in making one would make a nice addition.

Uhh, good looking coaches there. Would make a great addition to the ones Maverick build. We also have some freight and a platform type for normal gauge waggons if i'm not mistaken also build by the same modder. Your right about the III K, that would be a challenge to animate but it is so damn sexy looking. I hope this would piqued the interest of some of the talented modders we have here.

Hello guys!
I would like to ask if any of you talented modders have any interest (or time) in making some gorgeous narrow gauge steam engines from the Saxon railways (and some waggons for them). Among the reasons for why they should be included in the game i could mention the fact that there are (still) very few german narrow gauge steamers and also historical reasons. Further more they might prove useful on cheap branch lines.
If i may suggest, here are some of the models that would make a good addition (imo) to the game. Of course i may be subjective and i have to admit i find these steamers very interesting and beautiful. Of course the decision to build them (or any) is up to you guys.
1. Sächsische I K
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A4chsische_I_K
2. Sächsische II K - this is basicaly a mode I coupled together for better traction power so if anyone wants to make a type I we also have a type II ready.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A4chsische_II_K
3. Sächsische III k - this is my favourite model

https://www.accucraft.uk.com/p…-iiik-0-6-2t-120-3-scale/
4. Sächsische IV k - the most numerous narrow gauge engine found in Germany
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxon_IV_K
https://www.justtrains.net/product/saxon-iv-k - quite a nice model made for train simulator
5. Sächsische V k / DRG Class 99.61

If anyone wants to pick up this project i wish them good luck and have fun building them cuz i'm sure the community will by playing with them (and we are greatful).

Hi! i'we installed the mod but Heidelberg doesn't have an ingame image in the "buy trains" meniu. I can only see a violet square. Is it a bug?
-
I know it's work in progress but if i may some input, the first "tower" near the cabin looks a bit too slim at the neck compared to the pic from wiki. Also the "lips" from arrond the second and third one are too pronounced.
-
Hello, may i give an input? The lower part seems a bit too dark and very few details are visible.
-
If the train set had a baggage car (historical) then would be a nice addition (for historical purpose if not for transport).
-
Gorgeous locomotive! Are there any waggons for it planned? I'we seen some clips with it on youtoube, wonderful set.
-
Cadoras, congrats! lucky guy
-
@Licaon - thank you. Found the russian diesel, the blue one i knew of.
@'Maverick2002 - were these platform waggons used in real life?
-
Maverick2002, is the little diesel loco coming with the new platform waggon?
-
Thanks! got a bit lost in translation, was a bit confused which gauge they will use.
-
Hello! nice mod Maverick! are there any narrow gauge german locomotives for these (finished or planned)?
-
Hello! I have a problem with the stations starting with the latest patch 18381. The fences and platforms are invisible. You can only see glimpses of them in certain angles. Is anyone having this problem? I tried both versions on the forum and both have the same bug. With 15501 everything works fine. Is anyone else experiencing this? My GPU is 1080 GTX with latest drivers. windows 10 with latest updates.
