For the next mod I've choosen for the EuroCargo.
A first box truck is taking shape.
2 minor updates are available now;
DAF F241 series - DAF F241 series
is updated to resolve one minor thing reported in the stdout (it had no impact, but still)
DAF F241 series - Expansion I - DAF F241 series - Expansion I
is updated to fix a few incorrect references for license plates
Reminds me so of my old Wiking trucks!
Yes exactly, the ones with the really dark blue glass and the 'Picolo' collection with not transparent windows.
And now then for a more substantial ...
heavy haulage edition
PS Lässt sich eventuell an den Fenstern etwas verbessern? Das übrige Fahrzeug ist so ok.
They don't have any interior so the windows can't be made transparent. Well they can, but it will look crap
.
Therefore they are intended for background scenic use and not so much as foreground eye catchers.
dview Will it be possible for other Modders to add your fire trucks to the Depot Menu?, so that they can be used for truck routes?
The meshes aren't setup for driving, so wheels won't turn unless replaced and also lights won't function.
I've made it a ...
Soll ich mit dem Paket warten bis alles fertig ist bevor ich es raus gebe oder soll ich es soweit fertig machen, dass die Elemente in sich selbst fertig sind und dies wieder als Alpha ausgebe?
I'd say release when it feels good for you.
Releasing too early can lead to users finding issues that then need attention first and also if you change things after a first release you want to think about the backwards compatibility. Possibly resulting to additional files being needed to distinct between the first and final releases.
You can maybe do some iterations, release item by item but only when you feel the individual bits are complete.
Time-wise the only other thing on my mind is that I want to conclude my projects for TPF2 by the time we can start work on modding for the TPF3 (Beta) release.
Lieber den Spatz in der Hand als die Taube auf dem Dach.
Besser noch ne Taube in die Pfanne
I would love to see more modern trucks from MAN, Volvo, DAF, or other manufacturers.
I'll admit I like the looks of the modern trucks, but as time is already far too little, I focus on stuff from before the year 2000. My main aim is to recreate my Modellbahn feeling, which for me peaked in the '80s and '90s. As you may guess on my model RR roads, cars and trucks were way more relevant than trains
. My model car collection counted over a thousand models, against about 20 locomotives. Most models were at that time quite new vehicles, but of course cars and trucks from previous eras were also present, albeit in low numbers.
I'm using my time considering the next mod with a side step. Some background lowpoly models from the collection of cubus I imported into the model editor.
Let me know if you like these given that; These will be plain assets only, no driving versions, no extra features what so ever, not even lights.
I will only change the materials a bit to add a metal gloss map and to make the windows darker.
I wish I had more time, the best real-life time mod I found so far is Coffee but the capabilities of that are limited ![]()
Scrolling through my collection there are plenty opportunities, maybe even too many... I'm still unsure which I pickup as the next
How about with the trailer like this;
I'll drop you a PM shortly.
With the 1st expansion now almost finished, it's in Beta testing now, I'm starting to think about the next version/mod... not sure what it will be yet so I'm open for suggestions
... a smaller Eurocargo set, much alike the DAF 55
... a EuroFire crew cab fire truck
... a construction set
... Swap body trucks and other box trucks with triangle trailers
... something completely different
You've really put a lot of effort into this. The cargo types are really cool – especially the helicopter! Is that available as a complete asset?
The Huey heli is from Bandion. He kindly provided the model files so I could adjust it to make it transport ready. It is available in the Modwerkstatt, Flugzeug Assets (1) https://modwerkstatt.com/downloads/flugzeug-assets.
This mod has taken a lot of time, especially when I take into account I started this about 5 years ago. Only after reverse engineering Rico's Autokran I found what I was doing wrong to get steering of the trailer wheels working correct. ![]()
Now some more images of the asset. I rented this airport taxi way for a day, but I could have filled the entire airport with all the possible variations. I haven't counted everything but I'm confident the number of possible unique configs is in the millions. The asset has;
34 trucks
1 40ft trailer (only in random selection)
11 13.6m trailers
19 colours for the Nooteboom lowbed
- each in 5 axle settings
- and extra place alone heavy duty table
33 different cargo options, many of which come in 4 variants, some have fewer, some have more
9 liveries for Rico's mobile crane support items, each with 4 variants to support the 3, 4 or 5 axle cranes
and 4 colours for the fall back mobile trailer home.
Multiply these numbers and the count goes up fast, only for truck&trailer combinations there are 3605 possibilities. And that is not even including all the additional features like extending the lowbed in increments of 0.5 meter all the way up to 9 meters.
The paint jobs are really top, excellent choice on those colour schemes ![]()
After almost a full day the road testing on the cleaned up mod just about completed ![]()
Tomorrow I hope to test the asset.
Tonight I've finished the asset for the Iveco lowbed pack. Next step is to update a few of the descriptions, clean-up and then it can go in to final testing before I create the catalogue images.
Here another view on some of the trucks placed with the random selection.
Indeed N0neGiv3N that's why I think it is good to get such in place before TPF3 is here ![]()
