Yes I'm using mods - but I'm using a lot of modded vehicles - currently nearly 400!

A trial-and-error method where I turn each mod on one at a time will take a really long time.

I am hoping there's an alternative solution to finding the mods causing the error.

    Entschuldigen Sie mein schlechtes Deutsch.

I'm experiencing an issue where cars are spawning as stationary boxes.

This is causing traffic issues as the box sits there until it unspawns.

I think this is one of the missing .mdl files that is spawning?

How can I figure out which vehicles are causing the issue?

    Thanks.

I'm having issues with a crash to desktop error that gives the following message: `numTracks <= (int)sp.tracks.size()' failed

The full text from the crashdump is at the bottom of this post.

    • I'm running on a Mac with a large number of mods. In particular, I have custom soundsets and custom wav files for all cars in the game, both vanilla and third-party.
    • I think this error is an issue with audio so I suspect it is an issue with my sound mods.
    • The error is date-dependent. It first occurs in the 1940s, it then occurs frequently in the 1950s and 1960s, before becoming less frequent in the 1970s.
    • The error does not occur when I'm zoomed out and only appears when I zoom in fairly close. It occurs more frequently on busy roads, and much more frequently at road junctions.

I've been unsuccessfully reviewing soundsets to try to find the bug. There are a lot of them! I'd really appreciate some help narrowing it down.

If anyone can help with my following questions I'd really appreciate it!

    • Am I correct in interpreting this as an audio issue?
    • What does "Uncaught exception while in N2UI9CSelectorE" mean?
    • Is there anyway to identify which file (eg soundset, wav audio file) is causing this error?
    • Alternatively, is there any way to identify which vehicle is causing this error?

    Thanks in advance, JAB.

After many, many attempts: I have a mod that works, sometimes.

The runFn part of my mod.lua file does not work if the file is in my mods folder. If I replace the mod.lua file of an active Steam mod with my file it works perfectly, but from the mods folder... nothing. My res folder works fine from either the mods folder or the Steam folder. Only the mod.lua file must be in the Steam folder.

I do not know why this is happening. Help?

Your DDR mod works fine from my mods folder.

I'm trying to build a mod.lua file that will do a mass update of the road-traffic car models. I'd like to give them more realistic properties as well as new soundsets (which I have built separately).

I'm trying to build some scalable code that can be used for multiple models, and flexible code that can find .mdl files in different folder structures. Once I've got it working with a sample vehicle I'll expand and add in other vehicles.

To start with, I've tried to write a mod that will update any model using "beetle_1948_v2.mdl", in order to assign new properties and a new soundset.

I'm new to this and need some help. Could anyone look through my attached draft mod.lua file and comment?
