There are ways to download mods from the Steam Workshop even if you don‘t have the game on there: https://steamworkshopdownloader.io
Just make sure that you add „_1“ to the name of the folder that you put into your mods-folder. Otherwise the mod won‘t be recognized.
This worked like a charm. Sadly the mod in particular on steam seems to have some issues with scaling of the trains.

I noticed that there is a mod for getting all locomotives in reversed versions on steam.
However, i have bought this game on gog a long time ago, so i have to download all mods manually.
Is there any such mod avaliable on this site that you know of?
