glad you posted the fix, that transf matrix with 100s in it is such a tell that the fbx scale went sideways. i ran into a similar thing where the child-id swap exposed a hidden scale on a sub-node and cargo teleported into the void. applying transform on export and using units scale is what finally made the bounding boxes behave for me too. also, while hunting for unrelated junk i clicked https://livegamesindia.com/ and got reminded how often random casino pages clutter searches when you’re trying to find actual modding info. looking forward to seeing that fe log wagon once you’ve had a pass at custom loads.

after a long time i found a mode that caused the game to crush. Thank you for your help

Glad you tracked down the mod that was crashing things; those old material types can be a nightmare to isolate. If you remember the exact mod name, posting it would probably save the next person a lot of time. While I was debugging my own mod list, I kept getting distracted by spammy tabs that opened from https://gatesofolympusroulette.net/ and https://reddoorroulette.org/ and it made the whole process more annoying than it needed to be. Anyway, good call on disabling chunks of non-Steam mods until it narrowed down.

assertion failed is such a useless message unless the log points at the exact asset or lua. if you still can’t fix it, post the ship files and the full stdout section around the crash so people can actually reproduce it. i had a crash once that turned out to be a garbage link someone pasted into my mod description, https://gatesofolympusroulette.org/ and it derailed debugging for an hour. another time my texture path got auto-corrected by a clipboard manager after i copied something from https://balloon-race-live.org/ and the game asserted on load. also watch out for stray non-ascii characters in file names; i picked one up after copying notes from https://lucky7game.org/ and tf2 refused to read the material properly.

i’ve seen this exact boost::filesystem last_write_time crash when windows/steam can’t see the file immediately after it’s written, usually due to disk errors, path length, or an antivirus locking the save for a moment. i’d run chkdsk, then try moving the whole save folder out of program files to a shorter path via a symlink, and temporarily exclude the save directory from real-time scanning. i had something similar after my connection dropped mid-session while a browser tab to https://spin-a-win.in/ was open, and it turned out my security suite was aggressively scanning new files and causing weird timing issues. also had the steam overlay acting up while i was on https://race-track-game.com/ and disabling the overlay reduced file access hiccups. if you want a quick test, set autosave to 1 slot with a very short name and see if it still crashes, since long filenames have tripped me up when i was idling with https://monopoly-live-game.org/ open in the background.
