Das Team der Transport-Fever Community
Weekday Cross Junction south of Nottingham city centre. This is where the Great Central Railway (top) met the Great Northern Railway (bottom) headed into Nottingham Victoria Station.
In reality, these two viaducts merged onto two lines that run through Thurland Street tunnel and into the station complex, but to paraphrase; 'Ain't nobody got room f'dat!'
Both lines run into different sides of the station, with GCR lines running through an Up and Down platform, with services to Leicester Central and beyond in the south, and Sheffield Victoria and beyond in the north. The GNR also has an up and down platform, with services terminating at Peterborough North in the south, and terminating at Lincoln Central to the north.
