Hi,
I wonder if someone might be able to help please?
My son is playing TF2 on his PC (3.2GHz Intel i7; 16Gb RAM; Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6Gb) which is connected to an iiyama ProLite monitor via HDMI cable.
He only has to play it for a short while and the screen is knocked out (goes black) with the PC still running. The screen then can't find a connection and we have to hard reboot the machine.
I've been struggling to find an answer to this problem despite other people experiencing the same issue - I've seen myriad different suggestions online and have tried a few to no avail. He doesn't have this occur with other games, only with TF2.
I've plugged the PC into an older Samsung monitor that has a DVI socket on it (so running a DVI to HDMI cable) and it seems to hold up fine. It has crashed once with this set up in this same way, but he was playing it for hours before the crash occurred. With the iiyama monitor, it can take anywhere between five minutes of play to half an hour or so until this happens.
I've attached the stdout files for anyone to take a look at - I've had to chop them up because the single file was too big to post here.
But any help and advice as to what might be happening would be most, most appreciated.
Thank you.
