I wouldn't mind writing something on modding or the mod workflow. But it'd be in english..

The NSB Stadler Flirt have been updated to support the patch that came just moments ago. Doors now open on the platform side only.

Been busy. But I managed to get some time to start tinkering with texture and weathering effects.
A rough and early test.

Great job!!
What was the solution to the bogies ?
-
Haven't downloaded it, but any chance it's english, or will be in the future?

Looking good! Smooth shape!

Great effort guys. It's the Pioneer Zephyr which I'll submit to the DLC.
I put the Zephyr and Flirt next to each other to see how they look together.[Blockierte Grafik: http://puu.sh/f0xmd/17d00dc4bb.jpg]

A little tease of what's to come. Barely visible, yet showing loads of revealing shapes.

I have updated the NSB FLIRT to support the new loading speed feature in the patch that came this week. I hope that'll keep you happy with using the train. The FLIRT now sports a 12x loading speed compared to the previous 1x before I added support for this.

Thank you!
I used Fusion. Since it's free, why not..

It's been a while. Here's an update.
As I mentioned earlier, the model is made for a render assignment at school, where the goal is to understand the concepts of lighting, shading, textures, and compositing using multiple render passes.
I think the video mostly speaks for itself in regards of the process. So with some time and smart thinking, I think it can be brought to TF.

A bit more dramatic. Also done as a compositing exercise with multilayer EXR in Fusion.

Been playing with a quick render the past hour. Gotta run to bed asap, up again in five hours..

Thank you guys.
I haven't had much time today, but I made the driving compartment from scratch and cut out holes for the windows. Some details will need to be added, such as window trims, bolts and some handles.
I have rigged the wheels, rods and piston mechanics. Here's a test to see how they play along. There's only ONE wheel being animated, the rest happens automatically with the rig.

Hehe! Gotta make the model real world measurements before you export and convert for the game.

Here's a little something I've been working on the past couple of weeks when I've had the time for it. It's incredibly busy at school and I miss modeling something with a technical aspect to it. This model is first and foremost part of an assignment due first week in December, and with time I hope I can make it game engine friendly, and put it into the game.
It's a GWR 4900 Class 'Olton Hall'. The model I'm making will become the "Hogwarts Express", which is just a red repaint of the original green livery. Which one possibly ends up in the game is up to you. Either way, it's one heck of a job to model everything as detailed as possible!
As time goes by, a lot more rivets, nuts and bolts will be added (talking hundreds of them). The drivers compartment is just a placeholder for now until the boiler and all those things are done.

I'm gathering resources to make "Flytoget" and/or the NSB counterpart. No promise on when it'll actually be started. I'm really busy with 3D projects at school.
-
You are absolutely right, and I am fully aware of that. I had close conversations with a guy who drive these trains on a daily basis, so I got to know most of the technical things from him. Hopefully this isn't game breaking as you say.
However, the moment I made the mod it felt it was more important to actually finish and release something than still keep adding new features. I'm not saying I won't make these nuances and details, but I can't say when it'll be done. I'm very busy at school with 3D modeling, rendering and so on - so doing even more 3D when I get home is a bit tiring.
-
Nice find. I can't think of any reason why it's made like that. Unless PaTrond did something when he updated the mod, it's all on me - and I must've been dozing off when I made the mistake.
