I have a couple issues with the map editor. While making road connections allowing the game to Default connect everything, if you add more industries or make a change... then tell the editor to default load roads again, often it will erase old roads. In doing this it erases the small road section attached to industries, then the game sees no road to an industry and will not make a new connection. One must delete the industry and replace it for the road section to reappear and then connect with a road. Why is the game deleting that industry road section? Next would be the money situation. Inside the editor I should be able as a map and scenario maker, to edit the map in full without costing the map-builder. When the player starts a mod-map they all seem to be hundreds of millions in debt before the player even starts the map. Then trying to figure the math to set the player's start money is a nightmare... please fix the money situation in game editor mode. I should be able to edit the landscape without it costing the map one cent. My last request is in TransportFever I made several 6K and even 8K maps. In this TransportFever2 version only 5K maps can be created. My Black Diamond map size-6k x 3k rebuilt in TransportFever2 seems smashed compared to the older TransportFever version and has less room for industries. In many countries the distance between resource and factory are great distances, so it is important to be able for industries across the map to see a cities or industries demand. I am fine with using the landscape assets although it took me some time to figure out how to get it to work properly... and it takes forever to render after a change LoL but all that is fine. So in general, greater control for the map/scenario builder is needed. Setting money for the start, allowing creators to edit maps being built without cost to the project. Larger maps would be awesome, but if they are too unstable I understand.

Thanks again for such a great game and all your hard work!

I rebuilt my old BlackDiamond map as a 1.1 it plays okay but lacks the extra long distance I like. To me I like long distances from cities and industries, plus trains get to their max speed on huge maps. The old black diamond map in transport fever one was 6k x 3k, it runs pretty good, a couple of my 8k maps had some issues when full. My guess is for stability they maxed the game out at 5k maps. I still prefer the larger sizes. Transport fever one went by the size of the saved heightmap image, this editor has preset sizes. To the developer's I would like to have the game editor add the extra sizes back please...LoL Otherwise the editor works pretty good, although I see tons of maps being published without trees and landscaping, guess many have not figured how to use that properly, so the developers might want to make that part more user-friendly...myself it's fine but I want bigger maps please. For now I guess I will publish my maps at max size allowed and make adjustments as needed.

I am making mega-sized maps for TransportFever2... of course it's set for extended size maps. In TransportFever one my BlackDiamond map is a 6k by 4k map. In TransportFever Two max mega size is 5k by 5k. It squishes my heightmaps to fit their "downsized" game map editor. Why did they downsize the mega sized map building? I made 8k maps in version one of this game, if this one is improved... Why did they downsize the mega map sizes? My question is, why can we not edit the size because the editor will not go by the heightmap image anymore.

I have been rebuilding my map from TransportFever one BlackDiamond, and found TransportFever 2 will not allow me to build the landscape as huge as it was. The mega-sized map editor only allows maps to be built to a certain size? Is there a way to get the over-sized maps as large as we could build in TransportFever one?

I figured out what was causing it...google translate of the page. When I arrive to the Forum I would click translate...in doing so it would "change" what I typed in earlier posts chopping words out. Upon page refresh the words come back. So when using page translate with the Google browser remember it will do that. Guess I didn't notice it at first.

See that is what I mean...the above post is nothing like what I posted last night. It changed. If I post the word "map" it will change it to "card" and remove words like "is" or "the" it is like this forum is trying to translate or censor speech.

What I said was I would like to see the range of influence on Industries changed for the extra-large map sizes, so an industry chain can feed across the whole map without having to have several of the same industry chain to feed a given mega-sized map.

It may be my browser because I am using Google Translate on the page...LoL I wish this page had an English translation button built-in at the top of the page, many sites do.

The Steam Workshop updates your mods automatically. Nobody wants to go check a thousand mod web pages to see if the mod-creator has updated or fixed their mods. What happened in Trainz and could happen again here where the game mod formats were changed and needed updated. I've been posting about 35 landscape-maps in the Workshop, I've been loading them here about halfway through the collection, many of the best ones are the newer maps.
I would not talk-down workshop too much ... true people can copy mods and post their own, but people will do that anyway. My guess is a good portion of the modded trains and cars at this site are from other games.

Also...this web page alters what I type...it must think it is trying to translate my English to whatever and changes words and hacks-up what I am saying...I think that is one reason I stopped posting here, because I never get a response and it changes words. LoL

Increase the range that industries could be on huge custom maps ... would be on my wish list.

I have made several custom 6-k maps uploaded here and in Steam Workshop ... myself I would like to have one of each industry, then send goods throughout the whole map. Like a 6-k or larger map, with one oil well, one refinery then ship fuel through the whole map ... Industries can not see far-away towns and send goods to them, this can also happen on 4-k maps. but 6-k or larger it shows real fast. I love long rail-lines myself and a somewhat realistic operation. If you could do both the base-game industry settings for the game's auto-made maps ... then a custom setting where one could extend the time for a day's cycle and set extended ranges for industry so they can reach across huge maps.

    Need some help/advice...
I have a player that see's my off-map industries in my no-industry map Sleeping Creek. I had the no-industries set at...{ -2193.478, 9000 } and { -9000, 4595.270 } for a 4k map just like everyone else uses. Then a player posts a screenshot with the spawned industries floating in mid-air off the game board.
    So...I put the locations for a 6k map...{ -2519.450, 11584.433 } and { 11736.950, -9976.395 } the game takes the extended 6k locations even though it's a 4k map LoL.
Then I get a post of two screenshots showing they have moved locations and pushed out even farther...and he still sees the off-map industries. "! ?"

...okay I am at a loss here. A 4k map with off map industries set for a 6k distance and they still are showing in his game floating off map? All I can think of is, he must be using some sort of texture mod that has removed or pushed back the game's fog which controls the game's draw distance.

Has anyone else an answer...or what should be done? Anyone else running into this?

I have posted the screen shots I was sent. My thought is, if this game-fog was pushed back from the game settings...this will happen to other's maps as well. Those texture mods need to have that fog set back to default and update their mods as this will break people's maps. The last screenshot is from my game, showing the same 4k map edge with proper texture colors and game-fog to map-edge and the same off-map industries are not visible.

3-screenshots are shown. The first is the 4k map settings where I had them off the game map but close to a given corner. The other two are from the 6k settings on a 4k map, they went to new locations and farther out off the game play area, notice the fog line...it has been pushed back from some texture mod.

I have been watching Hans Dampf videos and he has a camera control mod for making videos in the game. I need that real-bad for making videos of my maps and mods I am making. Is there somewhere I can get those game-camera controls to add to my game?

I have about a dozen or so different maps for Transport Fever...am completing three more. They are posted in the maps section and in the Steam Workshop.

Having an in-game map editor, would allow users to place and spin around industries easier. Right now you have to set the rotation figures to get them to turn. Adding new brushes like a min-max landscape build brush for editing the landscape, rather than just an up and down brush. To be able to paint snow in some areas...or other landscape textures like summer or fall grass or grass with flowers. Fall tree collection, or snow covered...being able to paint trees on a landscape during the map build. To be able to dig into the map and make lakes, rives etc.

I have a question about making no industry maps and placing the 2-industries off the game-board far enough away the game won't draw a road to the off-map industry.
Well it causes the maps to take forever to load.
I tested my Australia map with and without the 2 industries on the game-map. The map I place 2 industries within the game map loads twice as fast as the one where I place them way off the game area. The map is 4097 x 4097 and the spot where I sent the 2 industries is...

    This setting makes the map take longer to load;
    {pos = { -2193.478, 9000 }, angle = math.rad(90.0), fileName = "industry/oil_well.con" },
    {pos = { -9000, 4595.270 }, angle = math.rad(0.0), fileName = "industry/oil_well.con" },

    Then inside the map-play area this loads faster;
    {pos = { 1372.495, 4179.049 }, angle = math.rad(0.0), fileName = "industry/goods_conglomerate.con" },
    {pos = { 3851.180, 65.640 }, angle = math.rad(0.0), fileName = "industry/goods_conglomerate.con" },

Now...I have used this setting on other large maps and so has other map-makers. My question...can this be causing the game to have issues placing the 2 industries off the game-map? Why is the game taking forever to load such a map as compared to one within the game-borders? Will having 2-industries off the game-board make the game run unstable? If we map makers wish to make no-industry maps what would the correct way be to create such maps?

If the game staggers loading off-map industries...what happens each time during game-play as it scans everything and writes down it's numbers...will having off-board industries cause issues during game play as to the game writing info. My idea is to make the most stable maps for the game, and I noticed the issue during recent tests I have made on my own maps.

Thanks for this...I have many grey-scale landscapes and use MicroDem for earth satellite landscapes. Was about to start making and posting maps. The spreadsheet is cool...was about to use a location list from another map and just fill-in my replacement numbers...Thanks!

Okay I think it is time for this game to have a proper in-game map editor.

In-game editing of the landscapes using brushes, placing industries, digging or expanding waterways. In the last Tropico game, their editor had a button-tab for posting completed maps/scenarios to the Steam WorkShop. In the editor one could use a seed-number to generate a game map small, medium or large. Then with the brushes one could edit the landscape, add cities and industries...saving the completed map then posting right to Steam Workshop.

So an in-game map editor with built-in map seed-generator plus allow edits to grey-scale maps if we have those.

    Thoughts? :)
