I'll release MacOS version if someone will need it, but i won't do Linux port, sorry. It's too much pain to support all those distros and graphical toolkits.
However, you can run it with wine, there are no external dependencies.

Another version is here, but since it's a huge update (not just in terms of features, but also in terms of internal logic) i'm releasing this one as a beta.
Any help with testing is really appreciated.

    1.3.0 b1
+ option to show map height levels
+ showing height level under cursor
    + loading steps
    + water
    * huge internal logic changes, expect bugs

I expect a bit more sophistication which is why I will take the old regexp code of my lua "parser" for TFMM.
This ensures that the data is taken from the correct places and also handles comments and different data types.
However, it is not a parser, so the code has to follow a certain format, much like your proposed regexp :)

By the way, did you try this extension? I believe that you can simply call data() from map.lua and parse its return object.

Since parsing of lua in PHP ist quite a challange, I do not have an ETA for this.
    I am very sorry.
I will try to implement a "brute-force / best guess" parser early on but cannot guarantee anything.

That's the problem, yeah. Writing or integrating a complete lua parser is a lot of work.
So i did it with PCRE. Not proud of it, but well, it works :)

Here is the set of regexps that i wrote:

    Code
    position: ".*pos[ ]*=[ ]*{[ ]*([0-9-.]+),[ ]*([0-9-.]+)[ ]*}"
    name: ".*name[ ]*=[ ]*_\(\"([^\"]+)\"\)"
    sizeFactor: ".*sizeFactor[ ]*=[ ]*([0-9-.]+)"
    fileName: ".*fileName[ ]*=[ ]*\"([^\"]+)\""

    You can test it here.

Then i perform a total guessing - if we have a fileName then it's definitely an industry, if we have a name then it's a town, etc.

    Idea: zooming greyscale map.

I didn't do zooming, but now you have an option to show the map in its original resolution by pressing 5th button in the toolbar. Hope that will help.

    Version 1.2.0:

    • option to show the heightmap in its original size
    • fixed possible memory leak
    • fixed plist for os x

    Thanks. Idea: zooming greyscale map.
easier to be placed city and indrusties. :)

Writing dynamic zoom is too hard and time consuming, but i'll see what i can do.

By the way, i made a tutorial video, it's available in the first post.

I'm not trying to create a competition here, take it easy.
My tool is somehow related to yours, but it differs a lot, like a different solution for the same task, try it and you'll see.
It's a viewer, not a creator/editor. The idea is to open an existing map (created with your web app, fo example) to check town placement and maybe modify something by editing lua config manually.
