I saw your conversion yesterday! Very, very nicely done!
DH-106 and myself talked about giving that airport a face-lift hehe... (well I suggested it seeing that he does the same to all his TF1 aircraft models) but of course it's totally up to him if he wants this released... and from what I know he's having a little break from TF2 at the moment. Hopefully he'll be back very soon! I am also waiting for a reply from him.
Personal use is always of course permitted but I haven't been able to convert it myself in the past... so if you want... in the meantime you could send me the mod in the .zip....by priv message LOL...pretty please! that would be awesome!

Hope you had a good summer despite the ongoing pandemic!
I've been busy these past few days due to request from PeugeotRacer and as a result... coming in a few days...
NEW (small) General Aviation Airfield with simple gravel runway and NEW Grass Airstrip for the smallest of planes and leisure flying!
Both will be excellent for those early aviators around 1920-1930 ;)))) Look out for them in the downloads section soon!

I also wish there was a possibility of making bigger maps... as I am using a lot of planes... so would have been nice to be limited by pixels count, not by aspect ratio... like in TPF1

Alternative International Airport has it's own modules just like vanilla airport you can find them in the AIA tab when you configure your airport.
Regional Airport, City Airport Large and Small Airfield are build on the base of vanilla airfield and their airport modules are different from big airport and can mix between those 4 only ...just like vanilla airports. Hope you will get there!

You can mix and match all modules when you edit Regional Airport or Alternative International Airport

hugedragonyk has them as assets - mybe he will update his TPF1 Hospital or Fire Station mods at some point with better textures for TPF2- guess you should ask him or go to his thread here on the Forum!

"I´d rather suggest a different approach for longer, non-constipated runways; whether or not it is feasible within the lane structure is not verified though. If the landing runway lanes used a runway turnoff at a point about halfway down its length but the physical runway extended a bit beyond this, a "long runway" look could be created while the aircraft keep on using only a portion of it."

Hey .. so till now we have a main building with tower, ATC tower only, new terminals (A, B) with and without jet-ways plus one smaller terminal C for low cost or larger aircraft so they don't end up inside terminal building when parked ... lights have been added here and there too... ... thinking of designing a new cargo terminal as the in-game one seems a bit old looking now!

I guess this should require aircraft .mdl modification.... "time to full thrust" I think - I am all for longer runways but it's a trade off between realism and airport efficiency in-game.
Longer runways = longer landing and stopping = longer plane landing separation = more possible go-arounds. I am sure for those "long haul routes' this won't matter as much as with 'outside airport' but could create bottlenecks in normal gameplay. Of course all depends on the style of play and user preference
I am amazed how you were able to put this together in the current form! Incorporating this should be relatively easy... maybe with Mega-Airport project.... hmmm... giving me ideas

I will have a look at the code ... since I am only at the beginning of my adventure with modding - I still find coding rather difficult and it is often on a trial / error basis!

I have mostly been working on a variations of airfield as coding for airports is indeed more coplex .... I totally agree about fences too ... they were the first things to go!
