I just used the defaults.

I just used the defaults.
I'm trying to make my own map for the first time and am having difficulty getting the settings right.
Map:
- Very Large (16km x 16km)
- Towns and Industries both Low
- 6 cities, 75 industries
Game Settings
- 1850
- Hard
Game Options
- upto 6 cargo types
- closures : often
- density target : low
Better city-industry ratios
- 0.21 cities per km² (default)
- 1.32 industries per km² (default)
- small table says I should have 68 industries
- 75 seems close enough
Greater Distance x2
- no settings available
Heavy Cargo Challenge
- 1T (payload)
- Use real weights ticked
Logistics Challenge
- worker for industries
- Indian without worker will close
Production Challenge
- all default (x2 x2 x2 x½)
- logistic challenge - first steps says it should be (x2 x1 x2 x½)
On game start, it says I need 191 industries for easy and normal difficulty.
191 industries seem a lot for 6 cities. What have I done wrong?
Thats where cargo trams come in handy:
Ahah, maybe next time. Playing your beginners ready made map for now, so no cargo trams.
I'm trying this for the first time and reached my first towns with new resource requirements.
They've gone from needing around 2x70 resources to needing 2x365 resources!
I had aimed to use trains to move large amounts of resources around the map, to hubs. Then use trucks to distribute from the hubs to the city locations.
With a town needing 730 goods (with 1930s technology), however, that feels impossible. The town would just be grid locked with trucks.
Any hints or tips for this phase of the game?![]()
(I've never played past 1900 before, in vanilla, the lack of strategic challenge bored me.)
Cheers,
Mat.
(I love the mod and its quality. You did a fantastic job. Well done! I appreciate your efforts.)
Oh you are totaly right. Have no clue what happend there or when ... i have uploaded the file again.
Thank you ![]()
I've removed the steam mods and replaced them with the one's from the zip file, and the map loads fine now.
Unfortunately, I still get a crash-to-desktop when I click a city to start my game...
EDIT:
I tried the mod without controller support and selecting a city worked fine.
Unfortunately, I have to use a controller due to an arm injury. So, while this mod doesn't support the controller UI, I can't play it ![]()
Links to steam are only there for the information what they do. The economy modding pack itself is a download-page and so has a zip-file you have to download at the bottom.
There are all the mods included. The page itself has just no detail information. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm really sorry, I don't see that anywhere.
I go to the following page:
- Economy Modding Pack - Transport Fever Community
I see a table of 8 mods.
- 2 have TPF2.net links, 6 have steam workshop links.
I see the following sections...
- Version information
- license
- Installation
- Workshop
- Contributors
- Comments
I don't anywhere to download the pack... Just the first mentioned table, with individual mods, 6 of them on steam...
Alles anzeigenAs you have postet it here and as commend on the map-download-page, here again:
There is no german or english named mods. But TPF2 distinguishes between Steam-Mods and TPF2.net Mods. As the map is from TPF2.net, please use the mod-pack from TPF2.net.
And that is it.
If you still want to create your own random map, please use the information provided here:
Lexicon: first steps - density of industries
Hopefully that answers your question. Have fun.

Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to look in to this.
When I go to the Economy Modding Pack - Transport Fever Community page, it only has download links for two of the mods, the other two link directly to steam. This means that I've manually installed two mods, and used steam for the other two...
| 1 | Logistische Herausforderung | logisticchallenge | Nein | Nein | zum Webdisk-Eintrag |
| 2 | Schwere Güter Herausforderung (Calculated Cargo Weight) | heavycargochallenge | Nein* | Ja* | zum Webdisk-Eintrag |
| 3 | Produktion Herausforderung | productionchallenge | Nein* | Ja* | zur Steamseite |
| 8 | besseres Stadt zu Industrie Verhältnis (für Kartengenerator) | cityindustryratio | Ja | Ja | zur Steamseite |
This then lead me to two of the mods being shown as missing (with German names, which lead to my confusion).
- screen shot 001
So, I manually replaced the two missing mods with mods from Steam
- screen shot 002
This is what lead to the (69/191) message
- screen shot 003
So, I manually changed a few settings
- screen shot 004
This successfully launched the game and I made it to the point where I should select two cities
- screen shot 005
But as soon as I click one, the game crashes
- screen shot 006
(The exact same problem as in the stdout.txt from my previous post, which is also what I get when making a map manually.)
Does this mean that I also need the two "missing" mods from TPF2.net, and not from steam?
- If so, where should I find them?
- As per the notes at the start of this post, the webpage I go to just redirects me to steam...
Thanks,
Mat
I tried the Logistische Herausforderung - normale Karte with EMP mods installed from Steam Workshop
- As directed to by the page Economy Modding Pack - Transport Fever Community
Unfortunately, the saved-game-file was looking for the mods with German names, and it couldn't find them; the subscribed mods were showing with English names.
So, I modified the saved game to remove the three German named mods and added the three English named mods.
Then, I got the following failure on the first message screen...
- X enough industries on map for difficulty "easy" (69/191)
Then I tried to create my own map, but when I tried to select my first city, the game crashed...
What am I doing wrong / what should I do?
