It would be nice in East Midlands colors to match your 158? http://members.madasafish.com/…56415_Newark-C_280608.jpg

It would be good, However with there being only a small amount of trains from the UK on here, It would be nice to have varying liveries if you're using only these mods.
-
I didn't do the class 158, it's Svelbeard 's work. I think I will start with this one http://members.madasafish.com/…k/156/class156_liv-pr.htm and do one or two others. However I will release the necessary files for doing repaints of this class.
-
That's a good choice, all the 156s carried this livery when new.
-
Anyone else hoping for Northern Rail, Arriva Liveries? .... No..? Okay..? *Whispers* I may be obsessed
-
Would you possibly consider doing either a Class 170 Turbostar (DMU) or a Class 220/221 Voyager/Super Voyager (DMU)? after you have done the projects at the top of your list.
-
Maybe Class 170, because I have a vector drawing of it. However this is really far away future, as my number one priority is real life aka university. Furthermore I do all the work by myself at the moment and I am not equally good (and motivated) at all of it, therefore stuff like this might take a lot of time I don't want to make promises I eventually don't keep. On the other hand I appreciate that my work seems to be good enough to ask for more I still hope, that the USA DLC might motivate other modders to start building british stuff.
-
Yea, I agree with you for focusing on uni, and the trains looking really good so far.
-
Looking great! Take your time, it's done when it's done...but hurry up
Btw, are you German or British?
Edit: Never mind, I saw other posts of yours, you seem quite German to me
-
You are right, I'm German, yet I got the impression, that the german tf-comunity isn't that much into British railways. Therefore I started this topic in English, to make it easier to read for people all over the world.
-
Very nice! I'm a German fan of British trains, too, so I'm glad about any vehicle you're creating, thank you!

Hello, I just made small progress over the last days, but the doors are working now.
However I came to make some choices about this mod which I would like to discuss.Should I create this mod as two units coupled together, or would you prefer having two units driving in both directions, which you can couple in the depot. This would allow you to create units with three class 156. On the other hand if I would couple them together, i could use fakeboogies to make the conection between two cars look more realistic.
The other thing is balancing. I found some data about class 156, but there are a lots of values missing.
- capacity = 148 I found this value
- weight = 35.5 t I found this value
- top speed = 120 km/h roughly the 15 mph I found
- power = 213 I found this one too
- tractive effort = 70 <- is this realistic?
- cost = ???
- running cost = ???
-
looks amazing
maybe you could do both (2 and 3 cars)
-
You could Do it so that you have the 156 and then do a 153 as well
-
There are no 3 car 156 units in reality, they have only ever operated as 2-car units. So a 3 car unit would not be correct! To form a 3 car train they are coupled to a single car 153 unit. (153 single car units where created by dividing 2 car 155 units.
PS: 120k/hr speed (75m/hr) is their official max permitted speed. For other details see the Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_156
Edit: Some were re-formed into 3 car sets in Scotland by splitting existing 2 car units and adding the cars to other 2 car units. (Note these are not special intermediate center cars without driver's cabs.) See: http://members.madasafish.com/…lass156_misformed.htm</a>
Hope this helps! -
I read about misformed 3 car units here http://members.madasafish.com/…56/class156_misformed.htm the question is do you guys want this option or do you prefer the complete two car unit in the depot.

Anyone else hoping for Northern Rail, Arriva Liveries? .... No..? Okay..? *Whispers* I may be obsessed
after the trains are released i am willing to have a look at them (if that is ok with BritishTrains)
-
Of course it is I'm not the biggest fan of doing textures
-
alright
now a unrelated question:
why have the majority of British DMU's/EMU's doors on the front and back of the train?
in the rest of europe that isn't the case: image image image -
I know that In scotland they connect 2 car units during the voyage to build 4 car units. This design allows passenger to walk through the train without leaving it which is quite important as the also decouple 4 car units to build 2 car units, which then proceed in different directions, so you want to make sure you are in the right car.
