  • I play on a big map. In year 1875, have every city connect with other two cities, ex, city a connected with city b and c, with one train line, and trains go in 5 to 8 min. Every town was connected with that way with 8 other towns in 4 train lines, and every train line, 3 cities, two trains with speed on a 100km/h
Every town have 80%-90% of city lines, every city have 2 or 3 tram line, and 2 or 3 bus lines, and every city have 2 train passenger stations.
Also, 100% of goods. Population, 500-690 inhabitants.
And, problem comming... What to do next... How train lines should look, direct, a to b, a to c, a to d, and trains should go on 5 to 7 min, or one line, a-b-c-d-c-b-a?
Now is 1930, and i still have 600 inhabitants?
    What i doing wrong? ;(

  • You can use longer lines (a-b-c-d-c-b-) without problems. But trains should go every 3 minutes or even shorter. All passengers want to reach their Destination within 20 minutes. So thei should not wait longer than These 3 minutes.

Inhabitants are limited by a growth factor. So 600 is a normal value since the last update. But you can Change this of course inside the base_config.lua.

  • How i can change that? I buy game on steam...
Can u explain me this, is normal, to have 600 inhabitants, last 50 years and whatever u do, number is 600?
I know of 20 min rules, but i did not think, trains should go on 3 min, i think, 5 or 7...
    Thanks for help...
    And i was thinking next...
    A-B bus line
    A-C direct train line
    A-D direct train line
    A-E direct train line...
But on that way have a lot of trains, cheaper variant is A-C-D-E, with trains on every 3 minutes...

  • I started to play on a big map, and in the beguinning everything is just fine.
Connect A-B towns with train lines, every city have a 3 city bus lines and money flow...
    In 1875 i have train lines between cities, A-B-C-B-A, B-C-D-C-B, C-D-E-D-C, etc...
    Population is 600 to 700.
IN 1890, i started with first tram lines, and build another one train stations per city.
Money still flow, but population is in the same. Cities with 600, have 550, cities with 550 have 600.
And build more train lines, but number of inhabitants still is the same. I made a profit of 50m per year, but i dont need a profit a want to cities still growth...
In year 1940 i have still 600 people per city, money still grow, but i dont have cities with growth
Trains go on every 5 to 7 minutes
    My question is
What is problem? Cities full of goods, 90% of inhabitants use a public transportation, and dont have a growth? Why?
What is my mistake? Its beter to use train lines A-B-C-B-A OR A-B, A-E, A-F, but then its a problem, cos on that way u have extremmely big number of trains, and every station can make a deadlock. And its hard to make a profitable line A-F, then line A-B-C-D-E-F-E-D-C-B-A.
I need youre advice, cos i start a game from begguining and dont want to take same mistakes like last time

  • With the last petch they (UG) limited the Growrate of the Towns/Cities. You can manualy change it back to "normal" in the base_config.lua
game.config.townGrowthExponent = 1.0-- .5 - 1.0 (exponent to attenuate late game town growth) - Since update 7553 the value is 0.87. Back to 1.0 should give you the normal grow rate.
It's always a question about performance and grow. With a "good" grow you have a "bad" performance, and with a reduced grow your performance is better.

For lines: it's goo0d to have a well connected city. I always try to connect 1 city to all neighbour cities and than i go on to the next town/city. I usually have 2 bus lines, 1 short connect the main areas (Commerce,Industry,Leisure, Living) 1 longer one for the "suburbs". I seldom use trams, for me they cause too much trouble with traffic deadlocks.
