I've been experimenting with the map I'm on, jumping back to the start of the game after trying one or two things out, but while a city I'd completely demolished (sans the roads) grew back the first three times, now it isn't anymore. What do I do?
Deleted every building in a city, now it's not growing back

when deleting all buildings of a city it's dead. It won't grow anymore. You have to leave ar least one building to keep the city alive.
-
But it did regrow the first few times? I spent hours setting this map up, and I don't have a backup point (I think). Can't I edit the savefile or something?
-
No. But one city less its that big problem?
-
Absolutely, it's the most important city on the map. There's 27 cities acting as one, and the one that's dead is the central part of downtown, it's where the highest density is expected. Without it, the whole city is pointless.
-
ok then RIP your save

-
How about manually spawning in buildings? I could see that working. If it's possible to spawn industries, surely buildings should be possible too. Even if I'll have to mod it in myself.
-
We have discussed that in another thread - i think it's a good idea, and i cannot see a problem for the game by doing that. Would be great to get new parts of a city.
But it depends on what UG will do...
-
So is that a thing that the modders could implement, or do the buildings use a different system that isn't practical for just plopping them?
-
The thread "Stadt darf wachsen" has a similar idea - as you can see in my last post in that thread there have been trials to make big monuments (like the "Eiffelturm") a place for workers.
I don't know if this could work for "easier" (city-) buildings...
