Okay, so far all problem has been related to ppl pointing the Steam folder to Train Fever instead of the Steam Client folder.
I will see how I can improve these steps to not be so critical...

@Friedloc
So it is working for you now? -
If you click the folder icon and point to the right Steam Client folder (not train fever folder), does it turn green then?
For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\ -
Inside the game, right? No way to select it in tfgm.Hehe, it will, I'm actually working on that routine... Just need to fix this path issue first.
-
Can you please post the pink path?
-
First time you start you will always get a baseline warning because there hasn't been one created yet.
The game exe and settings not found indicates that the path to the Steam client is somehow not accessible.I have PM you a link to a new TFGM to collect some error messages.
-
let me have a look. I will contact you in PM.
-
Now it works fine, extracting also works with 7zip, all is OK.
Can you put the Apdata-Folder in your Beta Manual (Importand for Win7 and Win8!) for the uninstallation, please?
Thanks, Very Good Job!Yes, I have to update the manual anyway.
In Tools->preferences->General There is an option in the Debug group: "Delete preferences on exit"
If this is checked when you exit TFGM, the preferences file will be deleted. -
I'm not sure what happened, but I created a new archive, try now.

I think @DofD refers to the problem that the ingame modlist has no scrollbar, so if you reach a specific number of mods the list exceeds the window and you are not able to reach some buttons. As a result, if you have more than this specific number, you can't play anymore. So DofD wants the old system where the mods don't show up in the modlist to install as many mods as he wants.
In the New TFGM the concept is a bit different:
Installed mods are stored localy in TFGM's internal library.
Enabled mods (marked with a list icon) shows up in TF mod list.
Legacy enabled mods (marked with a flash icon) are exactly as before, modifying vanilla files. These aren't shown in the TF's mod list (different system).
A disabled mod is removed from TF installation but still in the TFGM's library.
When a mod is uninstalled, it is removed from TFGM's library and can never be brought back, unless you install it again. -
I updated TFGM and reinstated the baseline creation at startup. It turned out it wasn't quite ready to be removed yet.
Latest version is 0.8.2.33 and is needed for the latest TF update (and DLC). -
Most of the old mods will work without the baseline due to the mod support now available in TF. When you enable mods, the restore point thing isn't used at all, only for legacy enabled mods.
You will always be able to use older mods, TFGM converts them automatically.I will rewrite the timeless and cost mod to use the new system and then I don't think we need the baseline anymore.
-
Yes, the baseline system is only needed for the Legacy mods and will be ripped out eventually.
Good to her that i started. -
Please try the new version and let me know if it works.
-
Okay, I found something... Only related to new fresh installations. Will post update soon.
Okay, try to download it again and see if this version works better.
The version is: 0.8.1.33 - 1238 -
Heurm... I haven't sleept for several many hours yet and I forgot to implement the tag dictionary... I think this is the problem...
Will see if I can do a quick fix. -
Okay, give me some time to check if I can find where it is...
-
Ok, same version as me, but I have English version.
What happens if you restart TFGM? -
That is the default path and should work. What language do you have Windows in? What Windows version are you running?
This looks like an old problem, did you download TFGM recently?Hmm, after you press OK, does TFGM start or exit?
If it starts you can go to Tools->Preferences->Paths to select your Steam Client folder (not your Train Fever folder) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\ -
Okay so here it is, the new TFGM v0.8.0.32 with support for the official mod format.
Please read the important update note! The note can be found in the ZIP archive or on the download page.
Some highlights:

* Tags in multiple languages.
* View groups by tags, authors and mod status.
* Automatic TARGA conversion when enabling mods (required for the new format).

...and some more + fixes and stability. The manual isn't updated yet, but it is in the pipe...
