For the 1st DAF F241 mod only the catalogue needs to be finished and then it is ready for release. I haven't spotted any of the preview trucks being featured in the gallery yet, as soon as I see one I'll start the upload

Then also for the Iveco TurboStar I've got an update ready, more changes as I expected for this;

- correction on tyre mesh for lowbed and high volume trailers

- remake of high volume curtainside trailers to adopt improved tarp mesh.

- correction of typo in Arcese Transporti textures.

- improved cargo position for 12.2m trailers.

- added cargo feature for all trailers in asset menu.

- removed a obsolete files.

I'm still in doubt of a size change. The truck appears a bit small in game. But the overall width of the truck matches, it could be a bit higher. I explored my options a bit and found a 3% size increase may be an improvement, however some parts of the truck need to be excluded (or even need a mesh change) and that makes it a real cumbersome task to undertake. Also an update will not by default be 100% backwards compatible, assets already places will show misaligned parts. So for now I decided to refrain from that.

I'll upload it in a bit, but when you noted anything else in the mod that you'd like to see improved then pls let me know.

PS I aim to do a scale correction on my Scania 3-series, but yet have to investigate my options.

And now I can show the DAF with a short cab has also arrived to my model editor

That opens up a chance for yet more variation

Last change to the DAF and then I think it's ready. I found the drivers of the lowbed and stake dolly didn't want to drive rails and tracks from melectro Track industry. So I raised the pay for the Felbermayr people and now they are much more cooperative .

With the stake dolly driver I agreed he will only need to do the extra long rails, the lowbed drivers now happily take the rail and tracks as cargo.

Katzer thanks for notifying. Both the DAF and T3 we're ok in my (short) tests with them on the beta.

uhm by any change can it be that your game year is beyond 2033? The T3 is available only until 2004 and the DAF55 until 2044, but most of the DAF is set to be only available till 2033.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that such is the case, as else we'll need to dig through the stdout probably.

I was still modding a little and also working on the catalogue for the coming DAF mod. No images yet to share, but I can tell there will be a lot more of the DAF . But now looking at the time I think I'd to consider to change my name to Late Night Modding Inc. ... because Dang time can fly when you're on a roll with it.

But something that could lead to problems is the total tris count at the end.
Don't get me wrong, i really like your models and use them all arround the map. But consider this:
One rail wagon has arround 40-50k tris. Add 6 of your cars (each arround 50-70k Tris, which is fine for one model) you get a total of 350k-420k tris count for one wagon only.
Then consider a train with 20 wagons of these.

Maybe it would be posible to cooperate at some point, an make some low poly cars, which can work as cargo models only.

Agree. For most of the '90's cars the tris count is less, but for the 00's pack that's different, hence I was thinking to ditch or limit the lod0 (the models have 4 lods), and lod1 offers sufficient detail for the use here.

Maybe I'll put the 00's AI traffic a bit higher on my to-do list. as there I aim to do the same and that can then be a good basis for the cars as cargo.

I'm happy to support if someone wants to make an add-on mod with the Modwerkstatt wagons loaded with my cars.

Making a VW/Audi load for them has crossed my mind already a few times, I just don't find the time to do it.

2 more variants for the next DAF set have made it into the model editor.

It are a 6m box truck and identical trailer and a 7m swap body chassis.

On the right side is not a DAF, but a Raba S22.

While the first DAF pack is running it's test cycles I started a first model for the 2nd pack, and with some old trucking videos on the side there was plenty of inspiration for more

Steam now also has it's preview available. To distinct the trucks a little more I changed the grille to the earlier version.

The asset for the DAF trucks is about done, I decided to include a cargo option not only for the wood and lowbed trailers but for all.

And also opted to include the older version of the grill, therewith the first trucks will become available in 1973, the majority will be available a bit later, 1979-1984, but that I still need to set. The asset menu will be all at once.

So it's about time to have a look if the previews can go out and then the last fine tuning, more testing and a big clean-up remain to do for this one.
