On the German Taxis I've decided to go just for a colour update. To be compatible, side- and backwards, it is a change of the material file that will automatically be adopted.

The base pack and road traffic are now both in their final test runs. An update for the VW T3 will follow later, but also that is scheduled to adopt the improved colour.

It could go for a 5,5 Tonner or less as well I think.

If you ask what other variants.. oef man open a door.. hahaha. My first ideas I think it is fit for;

a Frigo home delivery, you'll know "Eismann",

a small telescopic lift as e.g. used for maintenance on street lights,

just a box truck is always good...

A separate mod sound most feasible

Hi there, not sure if it was already reported or is on the radar.

Whilst modding in the Model editor I found it returned only a "filesystem error: Unknown exception" without further specification when a .tga texture image is missing. If it is a .dds file that is missing for a texture I still see the missing file reported.

As reference example I renamed a dds file and get:

error loading dds file: res/textures/models/bko_generic/bko_standard/bko_rubberblack.dds

filesystem error: Unknown exception

When I do the same for a tga file the shell window just shows:

filesystem error: Unknown exception

The '90s Swiss road traffic mod is now also a .... "Coming Soon!"

Austria is on the menu next, introducing the VW Bora.

That is the last I have scheduled, after that some company repaints for the '90s and of course further with the '00s.

For the Smart cars I can announce the "Coming Soon!"

The catalogue will follow later, for now it is Easter; Enjoy exploring!

Last week I received a call from the Gebruder Schwarz. Especially Schwarz senior seems worried about the competition. They ordered a few VW Golf and a Toyota for their business but also asked if they can get one of your 3way loaders, as I don't have these I quoted them for a Scania, but that wasn't received very well. So you may expect a call from the brothers too

Depends how many are in there . Whilst hiding a few in my coming Smart car mod I was actually just wondering the same. And thinking to perhaps start a thread for Easter-eggs in general, modders can give hints and players can show which are found. What do you think?

It's a "Coming Soon!" for the Road traffic Italy.

It's the first pack to include the BMW Z3, other unique features include cars with lights off, open windows on the Seat, VW Golf, Pajero and an Alfa 155 and alternative rims on 2 of the Alfa 155's. Personally I like the one with the 6 spoke rims from the Volvo very much.

The Italian Road traffic set is finished, I'll upload it tonight.

Almost done is a Swiss Road traffic set in which the Audi's will feature a first time for AI traffic, for performance those have only 3 LOD's, meaning the first most detailed one is dropped, they still look good.

Now last week I spend late evenings on something I thought would be a quick thing.

As displayed a while ago I have some Smart cars in the making. These will have their own base mod and hence need a gadget. But my idea got a bit bigger than that, it might become an asset on its own. The animation basics are done (I think). It's very long (2milion frames incl. pauses), so verification takes time as well. Here a few screenshots.

Also in test are the Dutch taxis. Now for those I'm trying to make them drive with a lit Taxi sign only when not loaded. But that looks impossible.

The best somehow working option I found is to use two load configs (see below) where the first has a capacity of only one person and the 2nd the full and to have the 2nd only hide the lit sign.

The effect is that when the vehicle changes load config it switches the sign off/on. With just one person loaded the sign is lit, with more it's off. However the sign doesn't change when all passengers step out. So if 3 persons are on board and all get off the sign stays off. I think the effect on most lines will therewith be that the sign will just always be off.

Is there a better option someone knows, I'll be glad to hear. My current trick I'll leave out, (unless ya all say it should be included).

Something for the Italian players is up next.

It's 90's road traffic Italy with 5 Alfa's!, the 155 with 3 different rims and the Spider with and without a passenger, also will the BMW Z3 make it's first appearance in road traffic and to enjoy the nice Italian weather some drivers have their windows rolled down.

With help from maettu I can already announce a next "Coming Soon!!"

I've just seen the game's update presentation and got inspired.

Mathias answered my question if the new buoys can be modded for use on aircraft unfortunately with a; Nope.

But with the new "sound/horn here" waypoint I see a nice option to include sound on the emergency vehicles. I really don't like the vehicles that constantly sounding their sirens, but with this new coming feature I see that issue can be solved.

Only I don't have proper sound editing tools and also only a few sound effects at hand. If someone can provide short useable sound files I may include in my mods please let me know

I'm not sure to what extend different countries use different sirens for the various services, but surely, with help, that can be explained

I think you're using Blender for your 3D models, although I'm not a hardware specialist, i do think that can run on fairly low performance machines, so a laptop should do for simple (=game) models.

Personally I'm also using a laptop, but this is a high-end workstation, so I can image such is out of your price range.

But mainly wanted to note good to hear from you and hope you find a machine to proceed on your mods!

Option B. does imply the Benzs will remain available only in the old colour... so then I tend to go for option F...

Hi all, I've got a question.

I'm gradually updating the '90s taxi packs and for the German pack I need your input on the colour.

My colour is based on my Herpa scale models and matches that quite well, but it is a bit more yellow than the colour used by hugedragonyk , (maybe my model colour has changed a bit over the years )

I'll be adding and BMW 3, for the Audi A6 I'll match hugedragon's beige. The question is what to do with the BMW 3 series and old models ...

Options I'm considering;

a. add the BMW in old colour, the A6 in new colour

b. add both in new colour

c. as b AND update the old models to the new colour (existing assets will not change automatically)

d. as b AND add the new colour additionally for the old models, the random feature will select both colours

e. as d BUT with a colour choice for the random

f. as d BUT random feature uses new colour as from game year 1997, driving vehicle availability will be set to change available colour in 97.

Let me know what you prefer. For reference an image of an E-class in 'old' and 'new' colour.
