What started with the intend to update some materials kind-a escalated.
A lot of (new) T3s for the dispatch pack. A bit of work on the asset needs to finish and then some testing, but the completion of the T3 update is coming nearer now...
A few (6) commercial variants of the fire box variant are added to the brand pack asset. On some I've taken the effort to give them some interior detail for when the shutters are open.
Now it's quickly back to the dispatch pack ![]()
And an alternative version has it transformed into a mobile store vehicle. Something typical Dutch from the 80s was the "SRV" (translates to Service Riding Sales), it started as daily services to provide fresh milk but got expanded to essentially a driving grocery store in the era before internet and home deliveries. Typically larger Spijkstaal vehicles were used, but I feel a smaller T3 would not be out of place... maybe I'll do an Eismann livery as well.
I've reduced the height a for the fire compartment a bit and done some repaints. I think this is especially useful for some private industry fire departments, so here are 2 ![]()
One extra variant for the dispatch pack
Rework on the T3 Airport pack is about finished. That's 3(-ish) down one to go.
After the rework I still need to separate the different parts to their own mods (now all is in a single dev. mod), add some catalogue images, update descriptions and off course some final test runs.
The Airport pack has 2 new vehicle additions and also a new add-on in the form of fog lights, the fog lights options I will also build into the base pack and branded models.
I used the fallback elephant of your older menu for my little zoo. Will there be an old washing machine when I install this update?
The elephant won't run away, no worries. The washing machine will come available for the brand pack that get's it's own asset entry.
A new asset menu also means a new fall back gimmick,
Miele is delivering a new washing machine, the old one is ready to be picked up ![]()
Sorry but there is another update for the T3 base mod coming, I've further reworked the body mesh, I'll release it as soon as I have completed all the repaints as well.
See here the evolution;
previous version (v4.21):
current version (v4.23):
next version (4.24 WIP):
After a (probably for now) last repaint I started work on the asset for the brand pack.
More repaints for the T3 ![]()
Carbonunit, yes I understand the confusion. The Steam version 1.21 is actually the same as the 4.21 here. At that time I was hesitant to update the major version on Steam as I was unsure such wouldn't cause issues.
A dual axle on the T3 I have never seen either, but probably someone will have tried it
. When I'm done playing it will probably get some nice alloy rims instead.
and Casa oef... that will almost explode the mod
... I'm still thinking about a camper version and maybe a double cab ... who knows maybe in due time ...
Meanwhile I'm playing around for a bit;
Carbonunit The colour pack got included in the base mod, you should be able to just delete the colour pack.
You can keep using my Steam mods only you'll need a little patience for the updates there. I always first release my mods here and only a week or so later on Steam.
For the T3s I'll only update Steam once I have the Brand pack update ready so that users there won't have the hassle of a temporary version
and transition smoothly. The great benefit with Steam are after all the automatic updates. Unless Steam goes completely off-line I ensure my mods will always remain available for my users, when a mod gets out-dated I'll either update it or I hide it so no new users can subscribe but existing users will keep them (that's also what I do with the limited edition previews on Steam).
Carbonunit, thanks that explains it for me.
You'll want to use the Brand pack 4.22.1 from the download section here, you can then safely disable your current steam version.
The T3 Colour pack is out-dated. I'm not 100% sure (only 95%
) if deactivating it will result in some place holder boxes showing, Safest is to move that to the top of the load sequence. So that all other (newer) mods will overwrite the duplicate model files.
Carbonunit and you do not have a T3 Brand pack activated? Hmm, your load sequence sounds OK... do you see any of the new options, like e.g. crew feature or off-set sliders, in the T3 asset menu?
Question about installation of the update:
In my mods folder I have something named "bko_vw_t3_base_1"
That sounds like the first version of the mod from 2021. Version 4 isn't 100% compatible, but I expect that for driving vehicles you'll see no issues. For the assets I'm a bit unsure if you'll maybe miss a few parts and find some place holder boxes around them, or that it is only that you can't access the model settings to adjust them anymore.
It's probably best if you keep the old version of the mod active for your existing map and add the new version after it in the load sequence. You may find that you have a double menu entry in the asset menu then. For that it's easiest to just change the availability years in the construction file of the old mod to be ending before 1850.
You'll see a big improvement on the v4 models versus the v1 ones.
Please let me know if it works or if you need help.
For the VW T3 Brand pack I've uploaded a temporary intermediate version (v4.22.1). It provides a separate asset menu for the brand pack vehicles.
For version 4.23 it will also have it's own asset menu, but then without the standard vehicles and with the new features, versions and liveries. I expect to have that completed somewhere in the coming weeks.
If you want to use the brand pack vehicle assets meanwhile and also want to make use of the new base mod vehicles then you'll need this v4.22.1 version of the mod.
And now also the VW T3 road traffic mods are updated. A tarp version is added to the German mod and an open version is added to the Dutch mod, the Swiss mod is only updated to adhere the new changes and textures from the updated base mod.
PS as always looking forward to your feed-back and seeing the new T3s appear on some images in the galley ![]()
