It appears that changing the stations won't be too hard.
Just started, but wanted to let you know that in the near future, small stations don't need the big building

Nice work! Thats a good idea access to the train station from two sides maybe with 3 or 4 tracks too? Or in the middel a highspeedtrack to pass for fastt trains that dont stop, just suggestion
It Seems that this are two 1 Railroad Sations Because there are two Symbols
Yup, correct these are 2 stations.
Just to show that you can also make a station without the building.
I planned to do some stations too. I already did some measurements, if you need them:
Road end point to origin = 20m
Road width = 6m
Sidewalk width = 3m each
Sidewalk height = 0.3m
Origin to first platform space = 1m
First platform width = 3m
Track width = 4m
Space between two parallel tracks = 0.5m
Middle Platform width = 8m
Platform height = 0.744m
Too bad the number of tracks as well as the location of the tracks is hardcoded.

The dirty solution is to group that two stations ingame

Or just select 1 station and 2 platforms?
Grouping would mean they still have to use 2 access points instead of 1.
Hi,
Is it also possible to do a station with two exits on one side? The ultimate solution is of course two exists on both sides of the station:
-X-----------X-
-X-----------X-
The big X are Exits to the street. Minus are tracks.
Combined Cargo/Passanger Station would be nice.
As the number of tracks is hardcoded, it probably means the length of tracks is hardcoded to the three options as well?
Edit: and is the position of the exiting road changeable or is it centered no matter what?
The length of the tracks and the number of the tracks is only sort-of hardcoded. You can alter the number of tracks but the ingame menu shows only the version selected with the two controls for the length and the number of tracks - these controls are hardcoded. I hope the developers are considering adding more control options later.
Then there possibly is a way to get it working. We should find out. People who've changed the ui might have an idea!?
I already scanned all .lua and .mdl files for keywords such as track, station or length. No result leading to the UI. The UI changes some have made are replaced textures.
That's too bad. Maybe they'll open stations for modding at some point, too. We'll have to wait, I guess
Concerning the roads leading to stations: is the position of the exiting road changeable or is it centered no matter what?
Edit: And maybe, as I would think it's a matter of finding the shortest path, they'll allow multiple exits at some point - when they introduce waypoints, for example.

Urban Games:
===========
What you quoted seems to be correct. The GUI controls are hardcoded, but
not the names of the station types. The GUI simply selects the first
(alphabetically) station type that has matching cargo flag, year range
and platform length (i.e. number of parts). Number of tracks
(min/maxPlatforms) is currently ignored. The actual railroad tracks are
built in the code; they are not part of the station type/model.
For the future, we've been thinking of merging the small/medium/large
config files into a single file, so for the current situation four types
would be sufficient (old, new, cargo_old, cargo_new). Then we could add
a type selector (if more than one is active) to the GUI and populate the
other controls according to the selected type.
If you have totally different suggestions, just let us know

Feel free to post your suggestions, Urban Games is watching
Now that doesn't sound too bad, does it? Looking forward to this Until then - DO we have any totally different suggestions? I could think of a situation where you place the platform onto the existing track, making curved stations possible.
