you just need a plugin for those (since they don't support dds by default).
Negativ, paint.net supports dds by default.

Was ich geschrieben hab, ist basically dass ich paint.net verwende und wie es da funktioniert, und dass der Prozess bei anderen Programmen wie Gimp genauso ist, man für die [anderen] aber ein Plugin installieren muss...
hi, I'm trying to make myself ČSD repaint of markus1014's OBB eurofima waggons, but i can't figure out how to repaint the doors, can anyone please help?
Looks like (not sure which original MDL you have used for your repaint) the main body uses this texture models/vehicle/waggon/oebb_z1_2170/oebb_z1_b_2171_orange_albedo.dds, while the doors are using this texture models/vehicle/waggon/oebb_z2_b_2170_5/oebb_z2_b_2170_5_orange_albedo.dds. Not sure if this was intended, but you will have to repaint both textures (only the need parts). Maybe it would be possible to exchange the assigned MTL-file. But it depends on the mapping (if both texture files have the door in the same place you can maybe change this).
How can you find out yourself? Load the MDL in the ME, got to MATERIALS and go through the different materials. When you select one entry the ME marks all parts that are using the selected material ("white/transparent marking"). In your case you are a little bit unlucky, as there are four different materials assigned to the doors. But two are namend "...fenster..." (windows) so you will need the other two (there is one for inside and one for outside). Then you only have to check which texture is used for MAP-Albedo (see screenshot).
yeees, thank you very much, it works!
