If you import a mesh as an obj, "Autoshmoth" is automatically set to 30 °. However, the Merk exporter cannot handle this setting. So you had to take this option out (the autosmooth) and set an edgesplit modifier.

I'm trying to understand the code for the Solaris Urbino.I'm having troubles with understanding the code in the .mdl.
I already fixed it by using your code (hope you don't mind).
I added some extra lines in the .mdl for the doors and I think because of this the rear was out of sink.
For example according to the Wiki "
brakeLights
is a list of mesh ids which should only be used when the vehicle reduces speed."How do I know which mesh (number) I need to take?
btw. you have got 3 wrong lines in the .mdl file for animation of the passengers because you added the extra doors.
These are lines 435,436 and 437 not needed anymore (Solaris 18m Urbino).

The number is visible in the model editor if you press the model button. It is just counting, so if you add a new, or delete an old mesh before that mesh, you use the id of, everything has other numbers and your mod is messed up.

How the IDs work is one of the things that are explained nowhere, I had to ask it, too. The documentation is just still to weak for beginners.
The mesh looks nice, but I don't know the original one, so I can't say anything about your changes.

Yes, great, there now some new words to figure out for the user, like model node tree, but you should be able to understand it. The model editor button was the critical missing information. Thanks.

So I'm trying for a week now.... to import the above meshes into the model editor.
I doesn't work whatever I tried and looked for help in Lexicon, Wiki and youtube.
So today tried to import the original Urbino mod from Mediziner and gave the same error.
I also tried the URBINO mvg mod from Marcolino and that one did work.
Could anyone please tell my what's the difference?
What do I need to do to make it work?
Or is there any other way to figure out the number of an added mesh?

How did you manage to load your model in the Model editor, what did you do?
The original from Mediziner won't load in the Model editor, see above.
Also any ideas how to get add the extra part in the .mdl for the 24m Trolleybus?
I understand the part below now, by changing the unit systems setting in Blender to "none".

Please explain, I don't know what I'm doing here:-(
When I copy your Urbino Mod to the staging area and rename it to "Example_mod_2" than I can import the whole .mdl
When I do the same with the original from Mediziner or the trolleybus I get an error.
I tried to analyse the data between yours and Medinizer, but without any luck..
Ps. meshes for the trolley only need some small improvements, biggest issue is that I don't know the meshes 'number'.
I need the modeleditor for that, or is there any other way to know the 'numbers' from the meshes which are needed in the .mdl?

I had a look at it... there is a difference in the first three line of the mdl.

You need to select exactly which .msh you want to import in blender, not the .mdl or the whole mod.
The importer can only handle TpF1 files, so you may add the lines a TpF2 file does not have, to make it a TpF1 file.
