  • Internally update function would be very nice :D

I'm planning to add this later on.

The only thing changed was how TFGM reads the Stem Client information. Do you have TF installed in a different location than the Client?

  • New update. I'm sorry for the massive amount of updates. I had simply forgot to take care of some cases where files where missing in the Steam Client.

Don't be sorry about the massive amount of updates. This being a tool in development and a beta, it should have a lot of updates. And we provide feedback and bugs - as is expected in a beta. :-) I work in QA and do this all the time.

TFGameManager v0.7.4.18 can now launch again. It is however not able to find the settings.lua. The UserID is not populated.

The debug version still work fine. :-) You're doing a great job and everyone is appreciating it.

The debug version is obsolete and not updated. The log feature in the debug version is now a part of the standard version, go to preferences and check the "Generate log file" checkbox..
You will find the log file in the same folder as you started TFGM from after you have exited TFGM.

Can you please start TFGM with log enabled, exit and send me the log file?

There is no log file generated on my system. :-(

Found it - it was one folder out of where TFGM was running from.

  • What is the next thing you would like to see addressed in TFGM? 22

    1. RAR archive without ZIP conversion. (10) 45%
    2. Backups to include mod states (enabled/disable). (7) 32%
    3. Automatic script execution when enabling / disabling mods (it's there but needs proper testing). (4) 18%
    4. TF Launch from TFGM. (1) 5%

It seems like TFGM now runs for the majority of the users and it is time to move on.
From the issue list, what is the most important feature you would like to have fixed as the next development stage?

Poll is closed. "RAR archive without ZIP conversion." has been implemented.

  • Hi Gwinda,

I'm running into some new issues with version 0.7.5.19 - 1208. I am unable to add some mods via click & drag or single addition pressing the add mod button (some other mods still work fine).

I get the following two error messages:

"Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000."

After pressing OK, I get the following message:

"Access violation at address 005E114 in module 'TFGameManager.exe'. Read of address 00000000."

Following this, if I try to add any more mods, the program does not do anything. To try and add mods again afterwards, I need to close and restart TFGM. I tried a system restart and am still with the same issue.

The rest seems to work fine. I can enable/disable mods as well as remove them. I am unable to re-add them after removing them.

Here is the lower part of the log - I hope it helps:
    RUN
Dropt file 'Re 460 016-9 New Look SBB.zip'
    Load(C:\Users\Bjorn Radtke\Downloads\Programs\Train Fever\Re 460 016-9 New Look SBB.zip)

    END

Edit: The mods I am having issues with can be added via TFMM. If I try to import TFMM into TFGM, TFGM provides the same error messages as above.

  • Warum nun zwei Manager (TFMM, TFGM)? Ist es nicht besser die Ressourcen zu bündeln, für den perfekten Game/Mod - Manager. Gwinda und Xanos Ihr könnt doch zusammen arbeiten?

    Sorry for my bad English

  • Just like there are many flavors of Ice Cream, not every one fancy them all. TFGM is developed from my personal taste and needs, it is more than just another mod manager.
If we were to implement the same functions, in the same way, all the ice cream would taste the same. We are also making the ice cream from different ingredients and manufacturing methods.

You don't have one flavor of ice cream anymore, you can pick the flavor you like best.
