Thank you guys for helping out.
Yes, TFMM isn't up to date with the latest mod format. It doesn't copy the config and documents folders in a mod. If you use TFMM you need to manually copy these folders the the mods folder.

TFGM does this automatically and this mod also supports TFGM's Configuration UI so you can configure the mod without tampering with Lua scripts.

    Release 1.89.0.172 - 1494
    * Added an export mod list dialog
    - Filter on All, Selected, Installed or Active
    * Added Mod list export in HTML format
    * Added Create mod bundle function
    - You must select minimum of two mods.
    - The mods must be present in the TFGM's library (registered).

    * Fix. missing tfnetId when creating map mods (add your tfnetID in the preferences->profile).
    * Fix. Some missing hint texts.
    * Fix. Crash when scanning mods and not all files could be copied.

The easiest way to add your TFNetID:
    1. Go to your profile page on transportfever.net

    DESCRIPTION
Mute various sounds/groups in Train Fever.

    • "Oh Yea!"
    • Track construction
    • Road construction
    • Demolition
    • Income payment
    • Miscellaneous UI sounds

    Supports TFGM's configuration UI.

    INSTALL
The map mod is written for the new mod system and must not be copied into the res folder, as before.

    Manual install
Unzip the archive in Train Fever/mods/ folder.
Start TF and activate the mod before playing.

    TFGM install
Drag & drop the archive to TFGM.
Go to the configuration tab to turn sounds on/off, hit save.
Start TF and activate the mod before playing.

    UNINSTALL
The good news with the new mod system is that no files are being modified. This makes it easy and safe to remove the mod at any time.

    Manual uninstall
Simply delete the the Train Fever/mods/gwinda_sound_effect_mod_x folder where x is the mod's major version number.

    TFGM uninstall
Simply select the mod and press disable.
The mod is kept in TFGM's internal library and can be enabled again at any time. To completely remove it from library select the mod and press uninstall.

    CONFIGURATION
The easiest way is to use TFGM's built in Configuration UI. Install the mod and go to the configuration tab.

    To manually configure (without TFGM)
The configuration file is located in the mod's root folder Config/config.lua
You can either manually open it in a text editor or just from TFGM, right click on the mod and select "Mod configuration..."

The config file has instructions included at the top. Scroll down to:

"-- BEGIN -- Do your configuration here"

Save create a new game to see the mod params take effect (no need to restart Train Fever).

    Release 1.87.0.167 - 1483

    * Added a "Heightmap editor", more info below.
    * Added a warning message if link import didn't had an info.lua file
    * Added life% range colors in background of vehicle graph
    * Added more error handling when loading strings.lua
    * Added exception catch (silent) if log couldn't be written to file.
    * Started to implement a new bug tracking system to get more details about these exception errors.

    Heightmap editor
The biggest news is the heightmap editor. This isn't really an "editor" per say, because you can't change anything in the heightmap data.
There are are however some tools to prepare the map:

    * Scale map to one of the 3 correct sizes.
    * Remove any color and alpha information.
    * Point and click on the map where you want the water level. Range values are calculated.
    * Export heightmap, colored and water mask for processing in paint program.
    * Export your map as a complete Map Mod!

    Other useful functions:

    * Histogram with water level indicator.
    * Contour line at cursor with water level indicator.
    * Water % coverage and warning if more than 33%
    * Warning if heightmap isn't in the right format.

When loading a heightmap it looks for the corresponding info.lua and presets the range, name and map seed.
After exported as a map mod, do feel free to edit info.lua, strings.lua and image_00.tga
If you have a Steam account, your profile is automatically added to the author section of info.lua.

    Release 1.86.0.160 - 1471

    * Added GamesaveManager
    * Added a TFGM sound folder
    * Added alarm function to timeline
    * Added timeline year synchronization
    * Added "settings lock" for mod configurations (on link update)

    * Change. Reduced some log data

    * Fix. Import count always showed 0.
    * Fix. Exception form crash if already open.
    * Fix. GOG root dir got "Train Fever\\" appended.
    * Fix. Memory leak when updating links.

    Timeline
If you have set autosaves to every year, the timeline will be notified when the game year change.
If the auto-sync button is enabled, the timeline will moved to the correct year on notification.
On each item in the timeline there is an "alarm bell". Toggle it to activate/deactivate the alarm.
The alarm goes off when the timeline reaches the item's start year. This can be good if you are waiting for a specific model to be available.

    GamesaveManager
Keeps track of savegame files and groups them together.
Analyses TF log file to match autosaves with save games, store map seeds and game loads.
Because TF don't flush the log file each time it is updated, TFGM isn't notified of updates until TF saves the log file. This may happen during game play, but to be sure, TF must exit before TFGM so the full log can be fetched and parsed.

    Train Fever Game Manager

If you have translated something, please share it with me :)

    @RobbiZ
The reason why TFGM is stripping away all line breaks in a vehicle description is this. In the vanilla and USA DLC models, the descriptions are defined in the language file (.po file). The description text in these .mdl files are merely identifiers in the .po file. Most of the actual text doesn't have line breaks in their final translation.

TFGM is not reading the .po file and only displaying the identifier (default description text). Some of these identifier do have line formatting for legacy reasons. In TFGM it looks very strange with these line breaks, so to make it look more like the in-game formatting, TFGM is stripping away all line breaks.

I have changed so the line breaks only are stripped for vanilla and USA DLC models, other mods will keep their formatting. This will be in the next update.

PS. You really don't need to put in line breaks, TF will automatically insert line breaks (word wrap) unless you want to create paragraphs (put in two consecutive line breaks).

P.P.S. This only applies to TFGM's vehicle view. The originals are always used when installing the mod into TF.

Question: Is it desired that the program does not support line breaks in strings? I just recieved the following message when starting the vehicle manager (version: 1.84.0.153 - 1464, mod: Baureihe 53)

As BR146 pointed out, the first attempt was a Lua syntax error.

Second, I think TFGM is stripping away linebreaks in the vehicle view for reasons I don't remember right now :) I will check to see what the reason was.

Stepke has already given me the final answer in a PM.

    @Xanos,
It sounds like I have done things that Train-Fever.Net wasn't aware of, but they were aware of everything, including the "terms & condition" not being displayed or the queueing of mods. The catalog has been in TFGM since August 2015 and no one has complained about its implementation until now. The initial concerns was about the cost for traffic, then it shifted to donation and credits and now it is about terms and conditions... I'm not quite sure what the exact reason really i since it has shifted forth and back a few times.

    @Merk,
Since this matter has been final there is no point in discussing further solutions more than to brain storm for future changes in the Train-Fever.Net policies/web API. For that I think a new thread would be appropiate, dedicated to Web API and Mod manager integration.

To display the webpage in a separate window would mean the use of an Active X component for the Internet web browser and that is not really a problem. The suggestion that TFGM would sense if the download button is pressed requires interaction from a event fired in html running inside an Active X object and C++ Code outside of the Active X object. It is possible but would require a lot of work, hours I'm not willing to spend if there is no guarantees that this solution wouldn't be accepted anymore at some point in the future.

To display it in the default web browser would make it impossible to know if the agreement was accepted, or if the download link was pressed.

It would also require to block the actual download started by the HTML events so not two copies would be downloaded in parallel. If it is done by the HTML only, TFGM can not follow the progress and/or detect faults.
All together this would also be an artificial solution to get around problems that could be solved very easy if the Web API was updated with additional functions.

When TFGM does it on its own, the whole download process can be monitored and controlled. Errors are detected and a successful download can automatically be registered and installed in TFGM's Database, without having to manually move or point out the downloaded file.

Now when the final decision has been made, let us leave this subject and move on or take it to a new thread. I need to figure out what to do with the remaining catalogue functions in the next update...
