I made Swedish wooden power poles from the 1900 and at the bottom you can see the backside of a modern Swedish Main signal with built in pre-signals (stack of 5 lights)
Unfortunately, I discovered that there can only be one set of power poles in the game and I don't think we want the wooden ones from 1900 all the way in the 2000 :)

I have asked UG if they can do something about this ;)

It seems like I hit a sensitive spot here and It wasn't my intention, sorry ;(

First of all, modders have to compleate their work on required vehicles needed for the DLC-timeline. We can't publish anything if work is not finished. There is a swedish modder who is really slow on finishing his locomotive ;)

    Ehurm...

Your poll btw is excluding the best solution: DLC will pass ist way through Beta into final version and will be available on train-fever.net. Patches, fixes and updates will be available for all users when they are ready. Especially GOG user will not have to wait for weeks for an update. When there is a stable, compleate version and Urban Games is interested in Publishing the community DLC on steam we'll have a closer look at this option.

I think you have misread what I meant, or I wasn't clear enough.
In any case, regardless if it is published on Steam or not, the DLC must be available on train-fever.net, at least for beta testing. I also said that one thing won't exclude the other...
That its why I said this poll is quite obvious :) The first alternative includes Train-fever.net...

A release through Urban Games is always a commercial release. No matter if it available for free or not. So we'll have to check all objects for licencing rights and remove some content we don't have the rights for.

That is a very good point that I never thought of. Maybe Urban Games can help us with the legal stuff? I will ask them about what paperworks needs to be done...

Also audience on train-fever.net is not limited to german speaking people. But of course we can promote our work also on Steam and official site ;)

Unfortunately, it is mostly german, even in this thread where we try to make a Nordic DLC. This is actually one of the reasons why my modelling goes so slow, I can't participate in the discussions and I lose interest...

Okay, so i have some info from UG regarding DLC distribution.

...Some question rises on how much control do we have if it is released on Steam? How often and how much work is it to release an update?

Okay, so i have some info from UG regarding DLC distribution.

    1) UG distributes the Nordic DLC as a free DLC through Steam.
    + Hustle free installation.
+ Great availability to all versions of TF (Steam, GOG and retail).
    + Great exposure and attention.
    - Dependent on Urban Games for Steam and GOG releases.

We have to update and test each DLC update (Duh!) and UG will compile and distribute both GOG and Steam versions of the DLC on our behalf.
All retail versions are using the Steam DRM.

So for us it isn't any more work than the obvious to distribute it through UG on Steam and GOG. This will not of course exclude the option to distribute it on Train-Fever.net as well.

    2) Distribution Excluxivley through Train-Fever.net
+ Updates can be released at any time.
+ Not dependent on Urban Games.
    - We are not reaching the full audience, especially the non German speaking.
    - Less exposure.

For both cases - TFMM, TFGM and any other mod manager needs to handle the mod version from Train-Fever.net as a DLC, not an ordinary mod.
Since we need to test the mod before release on Steam/GOG we need to have it available on Train-fever.net anyway for testing.
I made a poll about it, but I think the answer is quite obvious ;)

    Release 1.75.3.123 - 1349
Thanks to all submitted error reports I have been able to fix some more bugs.

    * Fix. now ignoring hidden MAC files.
    * Fix. some folder names was identified as files.

@Xanos TFGM is handling a lot of strange cases, there was just some cases that wasn't just quite covered.

However, we (modmanager creators) are not helping by silently accept anything thrown at us. We must point out that a mod format is obsolete or faulty, otherwize the modders will continue to produce faulty mods 8|

Of course we can do the conversion anyway (and we do), but we also need to point out that they aren't correct.
I think it is time to "educate" the modders :D

    Release 1.75.2.122 - 1348

Thanks to all submitted error reports I have been able to fix some bugs.
I will especially point out that about 99% of all reports was related to faulty mod packages.

If you are a modder, please read this article to pack your mods correctly:

Maybe the easiest way, but I also think that an official release would greatly benefit the DLC.

But it isn't really my descision. :)

Yes, it is actually our decision as a community to have a wish here. UG are open to any suggestion, even to publish through Steam.
Personally I think we would get a bigger audience and recognition if it was publish through Steam. Potentially buyers would see that there are two free DLC:s available and the Nordic DLC as a showcase of what you can do with modding.

But one thing wouldn't necessarily rule out the other option. We could probably publish on both Steam and Train-Fever.net, the question really comes down to how we manage updates.
I have to investigate how cumbersome it would be to do updates, once it has been published on Steam

Dear community, I had a brief talk with UG about how to distribute the Nordic DLC. UG is open for suggestions and I can see two alternatives here.

    1) UG distributes the Nordic DLC as a free DLC through Steam.
    + Hustle free installation.
    + Great availability (GOG users?)
    + Great exposure and attention
    - UG mentioned some paperwork (I'm not sure this is a minus, I guess we need some agreements on rights to distribute)
    - GOG users? Can GOG and retail versions download it from Steam? How does this work?

    2) Distribution through Train-Fever.net
    + Less paperwork? :)
+ Update can be released at any time
    - We are not reaching the full audience, especially the non German speaking.
    - Less exposure
    - TFMM, TFGM and any other mod manager needs to handle this as a DLC, not an ordinary mod.

Some question rises on how much control do we have if it is released on Steam? How often and how much work is it to release an update?

is the advanced train fever ATT not installing in the game manager?

If you didn't noticed it yet, ATT has been updated to the correct Train Fever Mod Format, so it should work now.

Here is another update with mostly smaller additions and fixes.
No new paradigm functions introduced :)

Please use the built in bug report system to send me log files
(they are included automatically). It is optional, but an email
address where I can reply with further questions can be set in the
profile tab under tools->Preferences. I hope you like this update :)

    DESCRIPTION
Upon request I made this mod to control particles in TF. This first version only controls chimney smoke in towns. You can adjust color and amount for industry buildings and all the rest (commercial, leisure and residents as one group). I will update this mod with more settings...

    INSTALL
This mod is written for the new mod system and must not be copied into the res folder, as before.

    Manual install
Unzip the archive in Train Fever/mods/ folder.
Start TF and activate the mod before playing.

    TFGM install
Drag & drop the archive to TFGM.
    Enable the mod
Start TF and activate the mod before playing (if you didn't already activated it in TFGM).

    UNINSTALL
The good news with the new mod system is that no files are being modified. This makes it easy and safe to remove the mod's folder at any time.

    Manual uninstall
Simply delete the the Train Fever/mods/gwinda_particle_mod_x folder where x is the mod's major version number.

    TFGM uninstall
Simply select the mod and press disable.
The mod is kept in TFGM's internal library and can be enabled again at any time. To completely remove it from library select the mod and press uninstall.

    CONFIGURATION
The configuration file is located in the mod's root folder under Config/config.lua
You can either manually open it in a text editor or just from TFGM, right click on the mod and select "Mod configuration..."

The config file has instructions included at the top. Scroll down to "-- BEGIN -- Do your configuration here"
Save and reload your game save or create a new game to see the mod params take effect (no need to restart Train Fever).
