  • Onto the next Station; Demere Street

    DEMERE STREET

As We traverse deeper into Oyster Bay county, the ( F ) Line reaches Demere Street, which is yet again another elevated Island Platform Station. This design was used for most of the ( F ) Line stations because it ended up being the most cost effective option in terms of track plan, passenger wayfinding, and structural costs. For this Station, a more artistical approach was used for the canopy. An intricate ornament sits on top of both ends of the canopy. It can be seen from half a km away! With no switches or layup tracks, Demere Street operationally is about as standard as they come.

The Pillars that support the canopy structure are made out of the same material as the canopy, however they contain reinforced joints to support the angle that they rest at. In addition, the glass from the canopy is multi-colored. Some panes are Blue, some green, and some yellow. The end glass panes are not colored. LED Lights have been strung along the perimeter of the canopy structure for illumination. Lattice style metal brings the entire station together along the elevated Track banisters.

Last but not least, here is an Aerial shot to be able to bask in the full glory of the Station.

Next week, We will showcase Swanley Road!

    Take Care! :)
