  • Hi all,

    I was wondering is it possible to move mod.io folder form home folder to somwhere else? If so how would I go about it? I looked into mod.io documentation and they only mention Windows but not LInux. And I mean the whole mod.io folder not just mods folder which normally resides in mod.io folder. I hope it makes sense. :D

    Cheers,
    Dan.

  • Try to change the path in globalsettings.json in /home/<username>/mod.io/

    Code
    {"RootLocalStoragePath":"/home/username/mod.io/common/"}

    Note about steam, steam uses a runtime sandbox on linux, so it's not possible to reach certain paths.

    For more info, see Sharing directories with the container and PRESSURE_VESSEL_FILESYSTEMS_RW

    https://github.com/ValveSoftwa…tories-with-the-container

    I have patched the debian /usr/games/steam script to add path outside the normal runtime, so my symlinks work.

    echo "Adding /ZEUGS/DEV/CommonAPI2/ via /usr/games/steam luncher"

    export PRESSURE_VESSEL_FILESYSTEMS_RW="/ZEUGS/DEV/CommonAPI2/"

  • Thanks for a reply. I tried your solution before posting and unfortunately it doesn't allow to move the whole mod.io folder from home folder. As soon I move the folder to another location I have to log into mod.io inside Transport Fever 2 again. And when I do that mod.io folder is being created again in home folder. So that path inside globalsettings.json only works if mod.io folder is in home folder. Is it hardcoded somwhere in game files maybe? Also I'm playing GOG version of the game.

  • if moving and changing the directory in the JSON file does not work, how about moving the data, e.g. to /opt/mod.io, and create a symbolic link "ln -s /opt/mod.io ~/mod.io".

    I'm pretty sure their main reason to move the folder is to clean-up their home folder. Creating a sym link unfortunately won't achieve this. Would be way better if the mod.io was located in the ~/.local/share folder honestly.

  • Hallo.
