Hallo everybody,
I started to develop my first train model from Hungary.
Image from real train: http://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/M…/File:MAV_V43-1103_02.JPG
This is the result after the first evening:
Today I waste much time to perfect symmetry, and my friend recommended to use two mirror modifiers instead of one.
The result of today's improvements:
Can't wait till you release it
I worked today with the model:
How many polygons(approx.) has in a TF train model?
Currently I have approx 14500 faces.
Shall I decrese the count?, or this is "good" for the normal game performance?
Maybe on the weekend I try run this model in the game, but if somebody tell me this things, i can change before I do big things.
Helló Úgy vélem, hogy szép, amit csinál a v 43 Tud is, hogy a v 63?
The easiest way to achieve symmetry is mirroring the model
Regarding the level of detail (amount of tris) you may take a look at this: http://www.train-fever.com/201…and-development-insights/
Thanks Xanos it's useful.
I worked a lot of hours on weekend:
The result is little joy.
Where shall I change the size of model? In blender or the config file?
Seems like the one in Trainz 12
did you use the scale function in blender? You need to apply scale before exporting.
Thanks @BritishTrains, now I used the scale.
I need work more on train
I am not good in making textures, but one Hungarian Boy sign in as painter, so we can do 5 repaints from 1963 to Today with different color schemes.
These 5 models not the same so i should do maybe 3 different model with small changes (bottom lamp, bogie, pantograph)
I will discuss this with the painter.
And we can produce a MÁV V43 Pack with 5 trains
Maybe we can add GYSEV version to the pack too.

Hy thanks, I have a M41, but this is not the best, so I planned a rebuild, and i going to make a V63 and a train from USA.
I wasn't home in weekend, so I continued the work in evening. I collected tons of experience and I realized need to remake the UV mapping, because its horrible, and isn't easy to repaint.
But I'm glad to the actual state.
After a short pause I continued the model.
I re-made the UV mapping and painting.
I think I need spend tons of hour, but I should work too.
I'm looking forward to it
Nice work
I captured three close pictures and I have an issue.
Why blurred the gray colored parts on bottom of the train always on shadow side?
The sunny side is always looks good and sharply.
I saw the issue always on the shadow side, only with gray color.
Should I modify the material settings?
Can somebody help me?
Deactivate ambient oclosion in the Trainer fever settings
@BritishTrains I switched off this, but the result is badly than before.
