Your preview pictures look amazing. There definitely missing to be able to play a nice round using the US trains. I'm excited.

Finally, some progress!

Hey.
WTF? (sorry, no bad intentions, I'm just extremely shocked right now)
Where has this thread been? Where are the downloads?
Why, for gods sake, did I stress myself for the last five days with that when it's already there? Why did I do all this work? We really have to communicate better. We don't need to do everything three times over...
I knew about MaikC's repaints, but I'm sorry, didn't like them too much. But looking at your pictures, your vehicles would have more than sufficed....Here's what I did since I didn't know yours existed (in my webdisc):
-
Sorry about that, it's my fault for not posting updates recently, much less actually working on the mod. I just wanted to have everything done so I could release it in one package instead of having to download multiple files.
-
Yeah, well, its done now.
I decided not to do the Acela since youre already doing that too, and did another fictive repaint of it. But I had requests for it, so be sure to upload it soon. And thinking of myself I can only say that I (and probably others) like to download and mix single engines and cars, so make them seperate downloads and please start uploading. Then your stuff can be found in the webdisc when its ready And when its nearly ready and you dont know when youll finish it, I recommend uploading it anyway with a Beta tag. You can update your uploads anytime and change the entries, but people can already use it
-
Hey CC_johnson look at my Webdisk i have done the things you posted since half a year Best way to avoid double work is just look at webdisk before you start some paints.
-
I really wanted to avoid saying this, but... Well, just look at the pics, between yours and mine are some differences. I started playing with yours, but I just wanted something different, especially with the colors. Sorry. Cheesecake's would have been much closer, but his werent uploaded - and I did not even know he was doing them - so I started myself... And couldnt stop to make everything match perfectly
-
As of this post I'm leaving for California in 5 hours, so I scrambled and threw together some stuff so you can at least download some of the work I've been doing, and not wait for 9+ days. These things below I felt were easiest to complete and are included in the filebase entry I just submitted. I'm just happy that I finally uploaded something. The reworked Metroliner, HHP and heritage cars will probably come much later.
-
Very well done. If it only would have been release two weeks ago, so much less work for me No, really good work.
Is it possible you borrowed some parts of my textures, like the extra headlights? That would be okay, but please credit that with your upload.
How do you do it that your headlights seem to be on? Can I copy that?
EDIT: Where did you get the 4-door Coach? I was looking for that. Can I pleease use it for my reapaint?
The Metroliner btw seems pretty finished too. Can you please upload that, I need it
Good travels. Take care.
Greets, Alex

For the headlights, I simply textured a "glow" over the lenses to create the illusion that they're turned on. Looks pretty legit when the sun is facing the front of the train. The downside is that it's mapped to both ends of the locomotive, but it isn't that noticeable on the rear of the AEM-7. You can do it as you please. As for the ditch lights, they do look pretty similar to yours, but I made them from the regular headlights.
The 4 door Amfleet I coach can be found on the Russian Train Fever site, but I think you found it already. -
-
That's basically what I did. If you're using Photoshop then you could add an outer glow layer style to the headlight layer to make it seem more like the lights on. Like I said earlier, it looks best when the sunlight is shining on it. Also, my upload finally got approved, so it should be on the site soon.
-
Grats on your upload.
I just got blown away by the pic showing the lights of the Acela, front and back extra. Never realized that that are supposed to be headlights down there. Just wow, well done.
Thats the thing. Above, I just copy and pasted the part of your texture. And it looks that way from every angle. Very frustrating, I tried several things afterward. Nothing worked. Well, I finally gave up and reverted to the lights off. Most engines, ingame and mod, have those. So whatevery. Just envious
I dont have Photoshop, I use paint.net. Usually works more then fine for what I need it.
-
So below is my current progress of the Metroliner. I haven't done anything to it for a while, except for the headlight glow, which I'm planning to keep off, since I can't get it to look decent here. The main things I've done are desaturating the silver metal areas, slapping on better windows and Phase II stripes to match the front paint. I've rearranged the consist, so now it uses two Metroliner power cars at each end and two Amfleet cars in the middle. I tried to make the Amfleets fit in with the powercars with similar textures and replacing the Amfleet trucks (bogeys) with the ones from the Metroliner. It's the closest I can get to the real life trainset, since I don't have any modeling ability. I've also added in an RS3L horn sound, though I'm not sure what horn they actually had. I'll release this as a stand-alone mod once I finish it.
-
It has been more than half a year since you last post, any chance this pack will finish in the end?
-
Sorry for lack of progress, I honestly lack the motivation. The Metroliner will be done in the near future.
The textures are mostly done, and I've also edited the model to lower the pantograph, so I could reconfigure the consist to use four Metroliner cars instead of having to use Amfleets which looked out of place. -
It's nice to see you're still here! I hope your motivation returns, I always like seeing new Amtrak material!
-
More progress.

Glad to see some progress bro~

I uploaded the files, just waiting for approval. Meanwhile here's the thumbnail.
