@Mrconner, normally, if you have a legal version and start an own game (no savegame downloaded from another user), you get achievements for reaching 1900/1950 without going bankrupt. As soon as you get the achievements, you also can choose these dates as start dates for new games.
If this did not work for you, please file a report to Urban Games.

Yes, i have an legal version. I now have the game in the background on full speed, whitout a loan going up to 1950, Hopefully now it unlocks !!!! Because it didn't unlock when i was playing.

I think I found the reason for your problem: http://www.train-fever.com/forums/topic/release-notes/ UG disabled achievements when you are using mods.

Wtf? I did not notice this as I didn't read the patchnotes. So UG really is telling us:
- buy our game as it supports mods!!!
- about half a year after release, we change the whole mod system
- partially blame me (creator of TFMM) that users don't transition to new mod system immediately
my thought: never change a running system! I never had problems with the old system neither had most other users, why should you switch to a bugged new system if the old one is still working and the new one gives you no advantage?
I only play with vehicle, station an deco mods. I don't get any advantage by using these mods and as I use the same mods in all my save games, I personally have absolutely no need for a save game based activation. But as I program TFMM I of course have to follow the progress - I wouldn't if I did not have. - and now: when you use the new system you are not able to receive any achievements and therefore also are not able to unlock other starting years besides 1850! Are you f*****g kidding me?
I'm mean really, I love playing the game and accumulated much playtime - more than on most other games. But without mods this game would not be half as good as it now is for me. And now using mods is more difficult than before and you cannot unlock achievemts or new starting dates? I really do not understand the train of though here... On the one hand UG supports modding and advertises it, on the other hand they panelize players who use mods@Mrconner, I didn't want to imply that you have an illegal version, just wanted to point out that a legal version may be required

No problem Xanos. But you are right about the mods. 1 mod activated no prices anymore. and also no new starting year. But who cares. Now me i don't want to start in 1850. Then i don't like the game. Start in 1970. So someone make us an mod so we can start in 1970, 1980, and so on, with 100m als starting money. Or UG give us an sandmode, please and support mods again, because mods are making your game !!!!.

Love it, I really believe this is one of the most comfortable trains to sit on of the dutch railways. The newer versions haven't got that feature to connect head to head if I'm right, there were so much troubles with those head doors so they decided to close them of with it's major facelift.

Well its hard to advice, guessing from the modell he knows what he is doing so he probably must have a plan on how to reduce polys from his (guessing around 100'000 or more) verts to around 10'000 verts max for lod 0
Now i myself would have no plan on how to achive that goal with his model. I probably never would have modeld as detailed as he has in the first place knowing that the model is for the game Train Fever and not for pure rendering purpose.I mean if we are honest modeling the lamp's in the middle of the train with around64 edges alone is nonsense for a game like trin fever all it does is slow down the game and guessing from the model it probably woun't even work in train fever without large stotter issues. Not even sure if you could load such a model into train fever at all. So sry but unless @FLYNN does reduce polys drasticly i can not see this ever work in train feverNice model never theless

I'm not a 3D modeling expert, but isn't it possible to take this model and somehow convert it to a lower poly model so it fits into train fever?
I still keep the hope someone within the community one day is willing to take the time to create the ICM... * hint to SwissCH *
You can't have a network of Dutch trains without the ICM in it...you just can't... -
