Nonetheless, Maverick - thanks for the effort.

wie man farbenfroh definiert
Well, as a joke and experiment and on a suggestion from someone a long time ago I did this:
Based on @xAlex666 1963 M-wagen, but with a brandnew IC skin as a canvas for my experimentations.

just to be precise, I never said I want clean textures! I just said for me they should be a more colorful. That doesn't mean you should offer different versions or make them clean.
Hahahaha. My bad. So, you like 'm colorful and dirty huh?
By the way: the waggons will be scaled down. I just got offers from @Bandion, @puffferzone and @Franzl for the adjustments.
Bandion was quickest even delivering almost before I could answer, but nonetheless my gratitude to all three! -
I agree. But it's like Skyrim:
I, for one, like to play it hardcore: full survival mode and generally installing mods to make it even more
realistic and/or harder to play. There's another group however, a very big group, who like to install gaudy big castles, tons of (godlike)
armor and so forth. It might look awesome, but realistic it ain't. But those guys (and girls) just love it.
That's the way they enjoy it.That's exactly why modding exist! Customize the game to personal preference!

Candore, beruhigt dich mal etwas
It would be really interesting to know how many share Trunky's wishes: if it's enough, it would prompt me
to make double packs: clean & dirty - don't forget, I am a servant of the community. But alas, my time is quite limited and many projects are laid down before me. So, I have to be realistic - only
when enough people or the "customer" wishes it, then I'll spare the time and effort. Otherwise, those projects
are going to swallow way to much time. Which doesn't mean I couldn't do it all, it would just mean it will be low on
the list. But as I said before, it doesn't bother me that Trunky said it - on the contrary, most of the time I'm sadly unaware
how the community looks at my work, of course I appreciate the accolades but most of the time I'm just elbows deep
in Photoshop not bothering to look at what fruit my labours bear. I've got many faults, but vanity is not among them.
If a sizable chunk of the community wants it - who am I to refuse? -
I have the same impression that the colors are mostly really dull. Might be real (thinking about all that dirt in real world) but looks a bit dull in TF. Just my 2 cents, I still like the work you do
None taken (offense that is)! That's always the discussion with making these things. I personally love beat up and dirty waggons - because that's the way I a
always seen'm. With those kind of textures I can really try to achieve full immersion when playing such a game. When clean and vibrant I get the feeling I'm
playing with a modeltrain set.Is that bad? No. Just not the kind of immersion I'm seeking.
But I know, there are enough people who like 'm "Pure'n'Kleen". Sometimes I try to do that, but I just can't help myself.I make a waggon. And it's clean.
I mean: clean. Then in a sudden perverse surge I grab the nearest bucket with dirt and spiders and fling at the thing, whilst laughing hysterically.
I. Just. Have. To.Furthermore, most of the time it's up to the original modder to decide what style he/she wants. Most of the time they just ask me to do the textures without
bothering to give specific instructions. I like to see that as a sign of confidence.

But, it would be interesting to know how many people would prefer clean waggons to dirty ones. Who do I make a f*cking poll?

And the last update for today - Dirty Quartet! In fact, three of them are cannibalized skins from my old "Hbi to Hbis" mod.
As it stands now, I think I'll release the first pack tomorrow: DB Hbis Pack (1 clean + 4 dirty):As all can see they are all quite similar. Like the old mod, I meant to make 4 completely identical
waggons, but with slight differences in weathering. That way, if you make a long train it looks
a bit more diverse, without the need to include flashy waggons with graphics or text. -
After a request from @baubus (and others) I changed the model a bit. Well, I say "I", but what I mean is that our household Modbaron and
supermodder @Bandion has helped me out again! The model of the Hbi has now been changed to more resemble the true Hbis! The InterCargoExpress:
And the clean DB-version:
-
And onwards! Next one bears normal mapping with something new for me, inspired by a joke made by @Bandion, some subtle dents and boils.
An experiment, which must be finetuned in the future.: -
I know, but still - the offer stands!
-
Oh dear, what were you doing? Perhaps I can placate the loss by making one skin by your request?

A new project beckons!
For some time I've been thinking about revamping an old project of mine, the "Hbi to Hbis" pack.
It was my first project where I really tried to weather and grime up my textures. Truth told, I've
cheated. No, I didn't hijack anyone else's textures, but I've used a reallife photo of a Hbis and cut it up and
fused it into the texture. The end result was - as far as I was concerned - pretty good. Since then,
my skills have been developing and I wanted to get back to that same project.Unfortunately, the vanilla "Hbi" is mapped too sparsely - meaning, the developers made the most
efficient use of the texture and mapping, which resulted in many parts being mirrored - making
it almost unusable for repaints. However, since the aformentioned project (november 2014) I've
gained some partners in crime and I've asked one of them to remap the vanilla Hbi a bit so that
it can be properly retextured. So, at this point a very big thanks to @Bandion for doing a bit of
remapping that transforms the whole model! So, enough boring talk. First of the line is a very odd one to find anywhere near my workshop.
It's clean...This will be something like a ongoing project - so more will follow!
