After a long delay, the third x-pack will be along soon!

You know where to find me of course. Half conscious between the paint fumes and stale beer.
-
EDIT. Ein gewisser Produzent hochwertiger Texturlösungen ist ebenfalls mit an Bord.
"Hochwertig"? Meh. Dirrrty's more like it! But ya'll know what my purpose here is, so we'll have to
-
There will be many more...

soweit ich weiß, gab es auch blaue markskleinkunst.de/MARKS/Bilder/7130seite.jpg
I believe that would be the "Stahlgrau" version - it's easily mistaken for a shade of Blue. It's almost the same hue I've used on the E18, E16 and the E95.
Same model as you've linked, different angle: http://www.markskleinkunst.de/MARKS/Bilder/E71/7130.jpg -
The new ones will certainly get it.

Ah, indeed the everlasting problem of normalmapped parts on the shadow side. Those can be solved by giving them a slight shadowing or dirtlayer on top. In this
case it can be solved to apply black to transparent gradient (as a mask) on that part and then decrease the transparency quite a bit. That way it will suggest depth
without the use of normalmapping. That being said, you might think "why bother normalmapping that part at all"? Well, normalmapping simulates depth by the way that part is being lighted. Perhaps
better said: the way it's lighted (and gains shadows) changes with the direction light is pointed at it - that's why it's not visible when it's on the shadow side. So,
the best way is to combine the two techniques: normalmapping for general depthsimulation and a extra applied texture as a backup. That nearly made sense, did it?

-
Oh sh*t. I totally missed this thread, but I already have a repaintproject in the works for the Schürzenwagen.
At the time I made the textures for the orginals and agreed with Alex that I would release any repaints at a
later date.I shelved this project for a time because of more pressing "customer" projects, but is very much still alive.
I already got the DB variants as good as complete (needs a slight model change), and the rest can be made
with little or no effort. So, I would say, I've got about two projects going at the moment, after that I'll look into it!

So, after quite of lot of restructuring, incorporating new stuff made by Bandion and a general overhaul, the IC-version is
nearing completion. The list of changes since the last time:- created the Halbpeisewagen-template
copy of the 1st wagon, with some changes made, mostly windows and lettering
- created the normal mapping for the Halbspeisewagen
copy of the 1st wagon, with some changes made, mostly windows- created the Endtriebwagen B
copy of the Endtriebwagen A, with different lettering and a red lamp...
- revamped the "whites"
I still wasn't satisfied with the white. Although the RAL-coded grey doesn't look right ingame, the current white color was
in my opinion too bright. As a compromise, I took the RAL 7035 that was used on the Lufthansa-403 and made it a bit brighter.
Now it looks better: not grey, but a shade under white
- repaired some of the lettering, used wrong format and spacingThe endresult:

So, there we go. Discovered some other faults with the door which I've adjusted as well. Thanks @MaikC for pointing it out!
And the entire thing with the proper Lufthansa livery.
-
Gegen das triste grau wird Cadoras sicher noch was unternehmen.
Not really @MaikC. Most of the screenshots I've taken has been with all extra graphic options (HDR and so forth) turned off.
I'll take a new screenshot so you can see it's actually quite white. -
Sieht schon super aus, aber der obere rote Streifen ist entweder zu schmal oder die Tür ist zu hoch. Der Streifen sollte komplett bis zum oberen Ende der Tür gehen.
The door is too high. As you can see in the picture, the top stripe must be less thick then the bottom one.
I guess got the door wrong. Slipped through the net. -
Okay, my work for this day: the first waggon with IC-livery is done me thinks:
Left to do:
1. Make the Lufthansa-livery for the 1st waggon.
2. Convert the 1st waggon template to a template for the second
3. Convert the Triebkopf template to a template for the Steuerwagen. So, a couple of hours of work left.
-
Always fun to see how people are watching those pictures as hawks.

-
Quest for the community: does anyone have clear pictures of the Beschriftung of the waggons? None of the
reference pictures I have does so. -
So, not a lot of progress today. Mainly did tests to see if the colors, graphics and weathering line up correctly.
The texturing for the 1st waggon will serve as a template for the 2nd waggon, so these test are, unfortunately,
vital, even if its only purpose is to save me a ton of corrections later on.
