I wish to limit the list of town names available when I create a new map in the map editor to start a free game.
To achieve this I have removed all the folders that I don't wish to appear from both the strings- and the name2 folders, but the list doesn't change anyway.
    What am I missing here?

An improvised German translation using Google:

Ich möchte die Liste der verfügbaren Städtenamen einschränken, wenn ich im Karteneditor eine neue Karte erstelle, um ein freies Spiel zu starten.
Um dies zu erreichen, habe ich alle Ordner, die nicht angezeigt werden sollen, aus den Ordnern strings- und name2 entfernt, aber die Liste ändert sich trotzdem nicht.
    Was vermisse ich hier?

I tried to use a mod from Steam Workshop that would change the size that some airplanes can use.
However after subscribing to the mod only the cargoversions of those planes changed airportsize.

This got me curious, so I decided to look into the modelfiles and see if I could change the size of airport usable just by replacing the line with the size from big to small.
Unfortunately this didn't work since the planes still show large airports in the game despite my change of phrase in the modelfile, so is there anything else I need to look at to change this?

Is it possible to make an expansion for the large airports in TpF2 so that You can reconfigure the airport with a second runway?
I am having capacity problems with airplanes having to make several attempts before they can land due to congested runways...

Thanks for the advice, I shuld have thought of opening it before posting... ;)

However upon opening the file in my texteditor it is completely empty, not a single character in it, which I suppose could explain why the game has problems using it.
Should I try downloading the game from Steam again?

Edit: I managed to solve the problem by verifying my gamefiles which showed that I was missing 16 files for the game.
Steam then downloaded the files and upon starting a free game with the same settings mentioned earlier the game started as expected.

    Thanks for Your time though!

I just downloaded the game and tried to play it for the first time, but I was quickly dissapointed when the game crashed to desktop before even getting started.
When trying to play the campaign the game starts to load the first mission, but soon stops loading and crashes to desktop without any further notice.
I then tried to start a Free game with temperate theme and european vehicles starting at 1910, but with the same result. The game starts to load the map but soon crashed to desktop, however this time I got an error message saying the following:
    Lua error, file: res\config\game_script\arrivaltracker.lua.
    string " res\config\game_script\arrivaltracker.lua":1: unexpected symbol.
Since it was my first attempt at playing the game I have not installed any usermade mods, so I suppose the problem must be within the game itself or any of the UG mods in it?

I also checked the Steam forum and quickly found a thread with many people being thrown out to the desktop, but usually after playing it some time while I can't even start the game.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, the DC9-21 Sport with the larger engines for better field performance... that must have been a fun aircraft. Do you prefer the old "dragon boat", the white paintscheme with the diagonal stripes or the newer one with the orange nacelles?

If You are looking at doing both models the paintscheme with the diagonal stripes that were used between the dragonboat and the red engines is probably best as it can be used both for the DC-9s and the MDs, but I am happy with whatever paintscheme You choose. :)

As for the Dc-9 and MD-series I would suggest a version for SAS which was one of the largest operators of the aircraft in Europe and even got Mc Donnell Douglas to build a special shorter version of the DC-9 which was used exclusively by SAS for short runways in the Northern parts of Scandinavia.

In total SAS operated over 80 aircraft of the MD-80 series and around 70 of the DC-9, some of them during the same period of time.
As a comparison Swissair operated around half the number of DC-9s and MD-80s.

The Dc-9s and Md-80s belonging to SAS operated on routes throughout most of Scandinavia and Europe, some of them as far as to Beirut if I remember things correctly.

From what I have seen in the trailers published so far on Youtube it looks very promising, but since the graphics seem to have gotten a major makeover I hope that they find a better way to handle the resources used by the game compared to the current version which brings my decently equipped laptop on its knees, especially the HDD which causes the vechicles to stutter a little.
Since I have seen the same phenomenon in many videos on Youtube I draw the conclusion that it is not just my computer that struggle to keep up with the game's demands.

For us living in Scandinavia which is a relatively small market in real life, but decently big in gaming I hope to see some trains that can at least be passed as decently fitting.
The problem with this is however that each country made their own rolling stock until the late 1990s, so I am not keeping my hopes to high in this respect, but keep worrying a little since the modding community for TpF is mainly German and therefore has produced rather few models for the Scandinavian market.

I am also hoping for more integrated stations so that You can combine ships, trains and trucks in a harbour for instance.
It seems as if UG has thought about this though since they say in the infrastructure vlog that it will be possible to combine freight and passengers in the same station area.

The aviation part of the current game is relatively difficult to operate on surplus since the passengers mainly wants to use the planes for commuting and as soon as there is an alternative to taking a plane they flock to that alternative leaving the planes and airports empty.
In TpF 2 I therefore hope that there will be a way to create profitable longer distance routes with the included aircraft.

Possibly it could also be useful to be able to landmark individual buildings in Your cities like in Cities Skylines.

I very much like that UG will make it possible to plop industries and whole cities in game, at least the latter I am missing in the current game.

I would like to have a Swedish version of DH-106s BAe 146-RJ 100 model if possible.
The Swedish Airline B.R.A. currently operates 13 RJ-100s mainly on domestic routes throughout Sweden, but also on seasonal charters and is a common sight as they almost touches the roof of the building where I work on their decent to Stockholm Bromma Airport.
This was one of the main reasons for downloading the BAe146/RJ-100 from TpF, but it would of course be even better to have it in a Swedish version as well.

A side drawing from BRAs website can be used to get an idea of the design
A view from the right hand side can be found on the Airplane pictures website
Airplane Pictures also has a picture of the belly of the aircraft.

I suppose You don't need the measurements as it is just a repaint request, so You can use the model that already exists.

    Any progress of this dlc?!

Considering that UG has just announced the sequel that is due later this year I guess You can declare this project dead.
Several of the original creators participating in the project has left the scene and most likely taken their models with them making it even harder to release it as a DLC.
If we are lucky some of the models might make their way to the forum as individual downloads , but unfortuneately I don't find it very likely.

I tend to watch his videos as well, but the modvorstellungen takes a bit of my limited knowledge in german that I aquired in school almost 30 years ago.
The timelapse videos however obviously don't require much skill in the german language, so I mostly watch those.

By the way, How does one record videos like the timelapse videos, is there a way to do it in the game or do one have to use another software like OBS or similar?

Wonderful videos every time, You put so much effort in the details that makes the scenes look so real.
I wonder how You make the videos though, I presume that the Ingame tools are not quite up to the task, so what software do You use to compile the videos before posting them?

Since German is not my native language here comes an english translation as well (the german might be somewhat flaud in the grammars).

I would like to see the existing ÖBB 1142 available created by Domtrain and Ystldystl in the downloads area as a Hector Rail 142-series repaint.
However I noticed when looking at photos of the 1142 and the 142 that Hector Rail seem to have added an extra box on the roof over each driver´s compartment (AC?).
This means that the model created by Domtrain and Ystldystl would not be entirely correct, but I would be pleased just to see a repaint of that model as well.

In the original post it says that Gwinda made the Swedish D-locomotive for the DLC, but I can't find it in the res folder that comes with the DLC, did it actually make it into the DLC upon release?

    Dienstmasse X60: 206,1t
    Dienstmasse X61: 155t
    Höchstegeschwindigkeit: 160km/h für beide typen.
    Leistung X60: 3000kW
    Leistung X61: 2000kW
    Anfahrtzugkraft X60: 340kN
Anfahrtzugkraft X61: 226kN? (Ich habe keine angabe gefunden)

Für mehrere info siehe die links oben.

    Freundliche Grüsse aus Schweden!
