A larger map with the density of cities and industries of the vanilla ones is unworkable, unless you have a NASA PC. The good guys at UG must have thought about minimum requirements and didn't want to stop people before a "performance wall" where you absolutely need to have a ridiculous amount of resources to run a particular part of the game decently.

That's why there are experimental maps, dear RaptorArk, to push the PC to it's limits. Can you create even bigger maps, such as 70 x 10 km? That definitely could give some unexpected results

Blender is a fine tool for me. You can use Sketchup (is a free program to download) to practice the concept of 3D modeling. Once you feel confident enough, you can pass to Blender and follow the tutorials there. Learn the key bindings first (not all of them, just the fundamental ones) and the various tools that will help you (such as the mirror to make 2 sides of the object in one go).

Then you should pass to orthogonal drawings and how to position them correctly. If you have already got experience with technical drawings at school, it's a plus for you. Finally, try to extrude your way to success

Also also, in no way we are saying that the E610 is a copy of the E424, we just say that we can recycle many components.

3D models are made of many parts, major details can be remodeled from scratch (say, a different roof or pantograph) or adapted (smaller, bigger, twisted etc.). With the needed modifications, we RaptorArk will be able to offer a fantastic model, realistic enough from the game's point of view.

It is interesting, but I don't think it's needed right now. Let's start with some models, once we have a good amount we'll see if it's reasonable to make such label or another one.

Also half of the mods are currently being published on DMA so it would be a small collection on TF.net.

The point is, this is still not a common project, but a Hub where single modders ask for help, including me.

We'll see in the future.

EDIT: Actually is really not a bad idea, it makes easier to find the mods with FS settings. I may give some indications for a "seal" to put in a corner, just like Austra Fever. Stay tuned for more.

Oh, I had already talked to Renzo before, I asked him if he could give me some models. He agreed and gave me the E424 but in the end RaptorArk was faster. The problem is that the textures do not stay linked to the model so I, and possibly we, need to redo them. I suck at texturing, but I'm specialized in 3D editing.

I could call Renzo to get more models. I hope he has some steam loco for us.

I had looked for the tree-phase catenary here and it seems that the catenary laying is hard-coded into the game, therefore out of modding bounds (at least last time I've checked someone said this).

but it goes the other way too. Some FS steam locos were former Austrian ones. Like Gr.728/729.

Gr. 729 was former KkStB 170 (maybe TPF1 Mod can be repainted, ask Franzl kkStB 170 / SB 170 / BBÖ 170 )
Gr. 728 was former KkStB 270 (maybe old TF Mod can be reworked/repainted, same author; kkStB 270 )

This is very good news: international rolling stock is welcome because it can be used in multiple scenarios.

Also the news of the repaints is very good! Repaints are way easier and I hope he can help us there by letting us use his creation.

Personally I'd like to finish my Ale724 first, then move to make some repaints for UIC cargo wagons (that way I'll be forced to learn how to damn paint these trains!).
