The Great Subway Project Route Map

    De Island Transportation Videos Thread

    INTRODUCTION

I've been working on this world in the game since December 2023. It started as a Project to concentrate on intricate underground building as I noticed not many players were doing this.

Instead of playing catch up with all of the progress for the last few years as a write up, I'll concentrate on the latest building "Work Orders" that De Island Transportation (The Company) has been tasked with completing.

To have an idea of what regions we are working on, I've provided my Rail Network Map. When Counties and Station names are used for future posts, this Map will pinpoint the general area of the world that I'm currently showcasing.

Currently Planned Work Orders for 2026

    • ( F ) Line Redesign Project

    Completed Work Orders

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • BRIEF HISTORY OF DE ISLAND TRANSPORTATION

De Island Transportation as a Company was formed in 1901 in the fictional Country known as Navira. The Mission Statement of the Company was to consolidate, maintain, and operate Passenger Service along the Right of Way of Several Defunct Railroads that used to operate in Navira. The Government gave De Island nearly free reign to unify the multitude of separate Track Segments that were in the Western Counties of Navira. The company has spent Billions over more than a century essentially redesigning the entire Country's Track layout. By the 1950s, De Island had several electrified Routes that covered Counties from Surf City to Wotton County. Fast forward to 2024 (The current in game year), De Island has become the primary form of Travel for the residents of Navira. The entire country has developed around De Island's Trackage.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ( M ) Line Redesign ✅

    • ( M ) Line Redesign Phase 1 - COMPLETED
    • ( M ) Line Redesign Phase 2 - COMPLETED
    • ( M ) Line Redesign Phase 3 - COMPLETED

This is a multi-phase project to rehabilitate the existing ( M ) Open-Cut corridor, demolish the Ocean Drive Shuttle, extend the ( M ) Right of Way over the waterway East of Dawson Blvd, connect it to the lower level of Breakridge, then continue North towards Play Stadium. This is where the Line will terminate with an Underground Yard which will eventually be the storage facility for the ( E ), ( D ), ( M ), and Playland Local Trains. This will alleviate the shortage of Yard Tracks in the region and should increase headways for Trains heading Westward.

    Phase 1 ✅

Phase 1 is focused primarily on the rehabilitation aspects of the project. This work will take place between Oldbury Station and Municipal Blvd (not inclusive of these stations). Seven Stations will be completely reconstructed from the ground up and will match the quality of the rest of the Subway Network.

    These stations are:

    1. Thorne Road ✅
    2. Danver Plains ✅
    3. Cambridge Valley ✅
    4. Bordeux Lane ✅
    5. Greenburg ✅
    6. Newent Street ✅
    7. Middlewich Village ✅

    Phase 2 ✅

Phase 2 is focused on the creation of the new Ocean Drive Branch Stations that are underground as opposed to the derelict relic currently known as the Elevated Ocean Drive Shuttle. The current Shuttle R.O.W is a one Track structure with bypass loops in between each station. The new R.O.W is projected to be a three track tunnel East of Ocean Drive (which will be an underground Three Track station itself). Park Drive and Casanova Drive stations will be consolidated into one station located at the mid-point between the two. The new station will be 2 side platforms with a bypass track in the center. The same will be for the Mesquite St Station redesign. East of that station, the bypass Track is merged and the remaining tracks will immediately ascend to be connected to the lower level of Breakridge. The purpose of this bypass track is to allow Yard Equipment Moves with minimal hindrance to revenue service.

    Station names are:

    1. Ocean Drive ✅
    2. Park - Casanova ✅
    3. Mesquite Street ✅

    Phase 3 ✅

Phase 3 is focused on the creation of the three new stations that do not currently exist. Their names are as follows:

    1. Pembroke Street ✅
    2. Nautilus Avenue ✅
    3. Play Stadium (Terminus) ✅

The last station will be located directly underneath Play Stadium. It will still have a traditional exit so the Station can function even when there are no Games scheduled. This will remove the need for Passengers to ride to Newtown Creek station for Ball park Access as it used to be a 2.41km walk to the front gates! A Bypass track will be constructed North of Breakridge and West of the Stadium for the same purpose as the Phase 2 Bypass Track.

    Phase 3Y ✅

Phase 3Y is a sub-phase for 3 that concentrates solely on the creation of the new Play Stadium Yard. It will be located adjacent to the new Play Stadium Station.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As work is completed, I will add the Pictures here as well as in my Gallery.

It's time to hit the field! 🚧

  • Happy New Years from De Island Transportation!

We are going into high gear for Construction this January. Not only is the ( M ) Line Redesign Phase II underway, a General Work Order was requested by the higher ups!

The Ashfield Main Line (which runs more inland than the ( M ) Line) has an adjacent station to Cambridge Valley named Helfield Av. It was in quite the debilitated state that it must be renovated alongside the ongoing redesign work. An Auxiliary construction crew was sent to the Jobsite and was able to knock it out.

This station is normally served by the ( N ) and < 6 > Trains.

  • Alright, it is time that Phase II of the ( M ) Line redesign commences.

Please see the diagram below showcasing the area of the map that is being worked on:

    ORIGINAL

    AFTER

As illustrated, the current Ocean Drive Shuttle elevated right of way is being dismantled. Simultaneously, construction on three new subway stations is also underway as well as a reconfiguration of the irrigation for the Bayview River. The New Ocean Drive Station is a three-Track Subway station. It will allow for 24/7 through service for the ( M ) Line as well as an additional track if a dedicated shuttle service needed to return. It will also allow for future Yard Moves from the planned Play Stadium Yard without interrupting Revenue Service.

Last but not least, here is a short Station Showcase Video so you can feel like you are there in person!

  • Just like that, Phase II is complete!

The ramp from Mesquite St Station has been constructed connecting it with the lowest level of Breakridge. This has lead to a elevated junction that allows Playland Local Trains to access the lower level Breakridge Platforms for access to Play Stadium in the future as opposed to only Mai Playland. Trains coming from the eventual Play Stadium Station will have two route choices once they reach Breakridge.

You can see an ( M ) Train descending onto the Mesquite St ramps after departing from the triple decker Breakridge Station.

  • January has been very productive with Phase III receiving shovels into the ground!

The Lowest Level Tracks from Breakridge has been extended and immediately turn north to head towards Play Stadium and the Northern Shore. The Tracks immediately descend until they reach ground level. Due to the grade of the area, the Tracks are able to slip underneath Pembroke Street which has received an overpass. The Phase III Station was constructed at this location as it was deemed viable to spur Transportation in a current Transit Dessert. All of the residents in this area used to walk to Breakridge daily!

We are down to the final stretch now; Play Stadium and the Yard that accompanies it!

  • Today marks the end of Work Order for the ( M ) Line Redesign project as Play Stadium Station and Underground Yard has wrapped up construction!

    PLAY STADIUM

For far too long, getting to Play Stadium meant a 1.5-mile walk from the nearest station (Newtown Creek). Here is the solution.

I introduce Play Stadium Station, the newest addition to the rail network, built specifically to deliver fans straight to the venue and designed to handle event-day demand.

    Beneath the station lies a hidden underground yard, designed to handle ( M ) , ( E ), ( D), and ( Playland Local) Train storage!

From network expansion to underground efficiency, this station is all about smarter access and better flow.

Since this station did not exist before hand, there will not be any "BEFORE" Pictures this time. You can imagine nothing but dirt and bedrock existed under the Stadium floor.

I've added three more shots that I personally like below:

    Play Stadium [Platform View 1]

    Play Stadium [Platform View 2]

    Play Stadium [Platform View 3]

In addition, here is another Station Showcase Video as I felt the Pictures did not capture the beauty of this Station fully.

Now it is time to enjoy our work before we take on the next Work Order! Finally the Playland County region of the World has a robust Yard to operate out of.

  • ( E ) Line Redesign (Wednesbury Branch portion only)

    1. Altri Avenue - COMPLETED
    2. Wet Marsh Highway - COMPLETED
    3. Shrewd Street - COMPLETED
    4. Breeze-On-Sea - COMPLETED
    5. Breezy Bridge (Rehabilitated) - COMPLETED

    ----

We will be continuing our construction efforts across the Country of Navira!

The next Project that will be undertaken is the ( E ) Line Redesign. The ( E ) Line functions as an route that services the Southport, Surf City, and Wednesbury County regions. It shares an Eastern Terminus with the ( D ) Line at Wednesbury, but reaches this destination in a shorter time utilizing a different track route.

The ( E ) is not a true Express service in the sense that it skips many stations (It only skips Haggan Street which is served by the ( V ) instead.), however, the track route that it uses, follows a more straight forward path to its terminus, allowing Wednesbury Residents to reach Broadway much faster than ( D ) Passengers.

For the Redesign Project, we will be focusing on the ( E ) Line stations between "Lowes Lane" and "Wednesbury" Stations. Please see the diagram below:

    ALTRI AVENUE

Altri Avenue is the first ground level station on the Wednesbury segment of this route. The reason is due to the water table of this region being too high which would lead to constant flooding if these stations were attempted to be built underground. Therefore, this stretch of track is the only one in the southern region of Navira which did not have all of it's grade crossings eliminated. Altri Avenue is now a quaint stop on the Subway line with Residential buildings and a sprinkle of commercial vendors.

I know that the Building and the Sign are separate Assets. The Building is from this Mod.

When I get back home tonight, I will find the Mod that I got the actual H&M Sign from.

Edit: Here is the Mod with the H&M Sign! It is from Hugo_91. Mod Link

  • WET MARSH HIGHWAY

The Second Station on the ( E ) Line to be rehabilitated. It is located between a Bog and the emergency responders for this County. High Tide has been an issue for this station as you can tell by the weathered Beach Front.

This Build was proving that not every Station Rehab has to be complex.

Now its time to work on Shrewd Street!

  • SHREWD STREET

This Station is truly the ugly child of this Branch Line as it is constantly inundated with environmental challenges. It contains offset ground platforms with canopies on both sides.

There is a Street Level Crossing dividing the Station symmetrically in half. There are only two roads in between the station and the ever rising tide from the shore. As safety measures, the Station has been surrounded by Sheet metal as a perimeter to mitigate salt water damage from the nearby shore.

In Terms of service patterns, this Station is Served by the ( E ) Train at all times, however ( D ) Trains can easily be rerouted on this entire Branch to reach Broadway if the needs requires for it.

It is now time to work on Breeze-On-Sea Station and the Breezy Bridge!

  • Our Construction Workers have received their Overtime Pay over the weekend ! 8)

They surely earned it from constructing the following:

    • Breeze-On-Sea: Rehabilitation Station
    • Breeze-On-Sea: Layup and Emergency Fleet Repair
    • Breeze Park
    • McDonald's
    • Breezy Bridge: Rehabilitation

Most of these Constructions did not exist at all beforehand. With this, the ( E ) Line Redesign has been completed. Trains can resume uninterrupted service!
