Alright, so I finally finished making my repaint mod I've been working on the past few days, all of the images are in the file, I have the mod.lua and everything. So, I put the mod in the staging_area file, and so that means I should be able to go in game and find the "Publish Mod" button. However, I go in and.. it's not there? Please help.
Can't find the publish mod button?

Did you copied the mod to the staging_area?

What is the name of the folder of your mod?
Which game version are you using? (Steam,GOG,AppStore)
-
Just to make sure and to keep You out of trouble: I trust You do have the original mod authors approval for You to publish the repaint?

Yes, I do. Look at the top few comments on this link

Well, I called the folder "IGR 7000 Series" (oh and also, I did put it in Steam/userdata/(my userid)/1066780/local/staging_area). As for the game version, it is the Steam one.

"IGR 7000 Series"
Is not a valid name for a folder. It should be something like "IGR7000Series_1"
In addition, no publish mod button appears if no mod.lua is available and you cannot upload it if there is no preview image in the folder.

Apparently, that's all it took. Thanks, also, I'd like to know. How would you come up with a valid name for the folder?

I tried to publish the mod, aaaaaand... this happened.

Valid foldernames are author_modname_majorversionnumber or modname_majorversionnumber, the first is the preferred one.

You can check if there is a "workshop_fileid .txt" in your mod folder that contains the ID of the orginal mod (As far as I know it can be deleted as your mod will get a new ID in the publishing process). I also read from other users this can be down to connection problems while uploading, so maybe just try it again?

Yeah, it's most likely this.
