Just a short update for the DAF truck expansion. I'm now working on the asset, the basis for the trucks is about done, next the trailers and then the random. I have once again set myself up with quite a bit of work to make all configurations I desire, hope you'll appreciate.
Bko mods - mainly road vehicles, occasionally other stuff

A side step; I've got some fair trucks in mind for the DAF, but then there is little available to fill a square.
Maybe you can already see what model kit this is inspired on.
I fear the animations are going to be hell of a job... we'll see.
Just what we need is fairground rides.....

Autoscooter?

Great!! And I was just about to build a fair ground! And this would be a lovely addition!!

Update for the swap bodies is now available. It adds Winner Spedition to the featured companies and comes with the animations needed for the driving trucks,
For the trucks a bit more testing is needed as well as the model description and catalogue. So that shouldn't be too long to also finish.
-
I had this idea before but parked it, however now decided to include it after all. 2 of the high volume combinations will have a 'drive-thru' trailer for easier loading.
-
The catalogue for the update part of the daf expansion is ready. These will get added to the base mod.
The description I yet have to amend and I want to let them run a few more trips for testing.

Amazing!

It wasn't entirely my intention to create a preview mod for the DAF expansion. After making one more variant I found though that the asset is actually nicely filled now, adding a next truck will add a new line in the selection menu, so hence there is a preview mod after all. It's the only short cab 6meter box truck and also the only one with side lights besides the high volume versions. The animations for the preview are new, they are much more refined, but also take longer. pls let me know if you like them.
The preview is a "Coming Soon!!"
The livery is for Abba Seafood, matching to the Fisch Industrie mods by melectro .

Test drives for the tipper and concrete mixer have started.
The tipper trucks come with and without animations. For the animated ones I used the trick from Rico S. to use open doors for the unloading completely. When no cargo is loaded they will not tip.
It does have a bit of an issue with assumable the bounding boxes, as you see in the last image at certain camera angles/distances the animated parts aren't visible.
-
I like that
But the vehicle should still tilt, even if it is not loaded.
The only advantage of my animation style is that the vehicles are not loaded while the vehicle is still tilted.
The vehicle is not loaded until the vehicle has lowered the tipping body.
But the bounding box should actually work.. it would then have to be adjusted to the height of the trough when it is tilted
Unless of course you added the dump truck as a custom load.. that's something I've been wanting to try.. then it should work, albeit a little awkward. then the bounding box would have to be defined in the load in order to fix the error

Yes I did make it as cargo so I can prevent the tilting when not loaded. The first cargo level is linked to a mesh that has no animations ;). The actual load is animated to completely disappear with the doors open event. In case of partly unloading, it will reappear with the doors close event.
The bounding box for the cargo is set to 0.1x0.1x0.1m so I wasn't expecting the behaviour I see.
-
the bounding box must have the same size as the tipper trough when it is loaded.
I have to test the animation thing too. I haven't had it on screen before.
The question here is how this affects complex animations. If this works well and is displayed correctly without any problems, I could even retrofit it to existing vehicles.

wow, what a beauty!!! Thank you for your work, as always!

The update for the DAF F241 base mod is now available in the download section;
Steam will be updated a little later.
The asset has 3 additional trailers that didn't fit in the catalogue anymore hope you'll enjoy and share some images of your scenery!

2nd version of the animated tipper trucks. I couldn't resolve the issue with the disappearing meshes (yet) but I worked around it. Now only during the open doors event the issue can still occur, but I feel this at least reduces my annoyance factor to acceptable. The solution is not optimal but does the job it hides the animated, cargo, parts unless opening doors, at all other times meshes regularly attached to the truck are displayed.

But you also have to say that the "To Hide" function is not yet running optimally.. you always have a brief moment when changing the charge when the other meshes are briefly faded in and faded out again

The hiding I arranged same as I did for my DAF55 drivers, there is a small chance the animations are triggered a fraction too late when running in double fast forward, for the rest I noted no visual issues yet.
