Hi, and one question: if you already have it loaded, is it possible to update the mod without anything happening to the save game?
Bko mods - mainly road vehicles, occasionally other stuff

Yes, that's no problem at all.

Before I start working on more Iveco trucks (for a dispatch pack) first some other stuff.
Such as an update for the VW T3, mainly to add some features to the assets and to finally switch to .dds glass textures. But I can't resist to add a few more paint jobs.

Does anyone know if I can update a major mod version on steam without issues?
On Steam I used major version 1 for the T3, but I want to update it to major version 4 to be in-line with the mod available here. The content of the mod is already the same so actually steam already has version 4, only I didn't upload it as such because I am in doubt that such will not result in problems for my users.
The coming update is backward compatible with the current version, I just want to make sure I won't cause system crashes or other trouble.
Thanks for the help.

For the T3 I'll be adding a new variant, here a first look, it will also come available with a tarp cover.
PeterLustig it took a while, but it finally promoted from my to-do list

Some samples of the T3 with a tarp cover.

With an early start of my weekend
it got very late last night
but I finished the T3 asset update. For the open tarp version I made some new/alternative add-ons available. I've also adjusted the asset so that different add-ons can be used on 1 vehicle at the same time.
Now a Redbull and on to the mod description and catalogue.

The update for the T3 base pack is now available
Volkswagen T3 Base Pack 'Jumbo'
It is backwards compatible with previous versions 4.0 and newer, so you can just replace the existing files.
-
PS as always looking forward to your feed-back and seeing the new T3s appear on some images in the galley

-
And now also the VW T3 road traffic mods are updated. A tarp version is added to the German mod and an open version is added to the Dutch mod, the Swiss mod is only updated to adhere the new changes and textures from the updated base mod.

For the VW T3 Brand pack I've uploaded a temporary intermediate version (v4.22.1). It provides a separate asset menu for the brand pack vehicles.
For version 4.23 it will also have it's own asset menu, but then without the standard vehicles and with the new features, versions and liveries. I expect to have that completed somewhere in the coming weeks.
If you want to use the brand pack vehicle assets meanwhile and also want to make use of the new base mod vehicles then you'll need this v4.22.1 version of the mod.

Question about installation of the update:
In my mods folder I have something named "bko_vw_t3_base_1" from 10th of May 2024, what obviously is the base pack. The new base pack is named "bko_vw_t3_4". If I delete the old one and copy this one to mods, then I will very likely end up with a lot of grey boxes.I have no T3 in AI traffic, as there is no AI, but there are many cars on lines and more standing around as assets. How to install the new one without having grey boxes? Or can I just add it to the folder and keep the old base pack?

Question about installation of the update:
In my mods folder I have something named "bko_vw_t3_base_1"That sounds like the first version of the mod from 2021. Version 4 isn't 100% compatible, but I expect that for driving vehicles you'll see no issues. For the assets I'm a bit unsure if you'll maybe miss a few parts and find some place holder boxes around them, or that it is only that you can't access the model settings to adjust them anymore.
It's probably best if you keep the old version of the mod active for your existing map and add the new version after it in the load sequence. You may find that you have a double menu entry in the asset menu then. For that it's easiest to just change the availability years in the construction file of the old mod to be ending before 1850.
You'll see a big improvement on the v4 models versus the v1 ones.
Please let me know if it works or if you need help.

After some trying and loading the game for hours I have the "Volkswagen T3 Base set" activated first, then the "Volkswagen T3 Base Pack (Jumbo) 4.23 activated next and the Base Pack (Jumbo) 1.21 deactivated, which is loaded from steam, because of that I could not replace the old one with the newer version with a matching name. This seems to work, I can buy open lorries (Pritschenwagen, what is the english word for that?) for traffic lines, but I cant find them in the assets menue.
When I remove the T3 Base set it reports a lot of grey boxes.

Carbonunit and you do not have a T3 Brand pack activated? Hmm, your load sequence sounds OK... do you see any of the new options, like e.g. crew feature or off-set sliders, in the T3 asset menu?
-
Thiis is, what I havve activated at the moment:
I will check, if my brand pack is up to date.
Update: The Brand Pack needs an update as well. I have also loaded that from steam and there seems to be no update so far. So perhaps an idea for modders: Decide where to host your mods. If you update them, please do that on every platform. If you dont want to keep things on steam up to date, then dont put them on steam. Steam does the update automatically for me, but it can only update, what was uploaded before.
