  • Hi All, a few question for you experts :)

    1. have built a custom map using the industry mod to create a car industry chain is there anywhere to send the completed cars? tried changing the towns requirements but cant see cars listed in the items any scripts or anything to add cars to a towns requirements ? or is there a mod that puts something in the game to accept cars?

    2. i download my mods to manually store , when setting up a game certain mods require other mods to be loaded before hand.

the way i have it at moment is in folders ie trains 1 folder needed to be loaded 1st trains 2 folder needs files from folder one to be loaded first

trains 3 folder require files from 1 and 2 folder to load first and do the same for trucks ,assets ect is there a better way? is there anything outside of the game that will organize the mods into the correct order of loading?

    3. and for European users could you list me some current carriages mods, or even just the names of the current carridges that are used in Germany, France, and the Netherlands , i have found carriages for the uk but would like some for Europe, but do not know the names of them to search :)

thanks for any help or advice

  • Hi!

Ad 1.: If You add a new cargo type to the game, You can define its consumers. If You just intend it to be an intermediate product for consumption by industries, the cargo will need to be demanded by a factories "recipe". If it is to be requested by cities, this will be defined in the cargo.lua; You can differentiate between residential, industrial or commercial demands. See this lexicon article.

Ad 2.: As far as I am aware, there were a few attempts at mod managers over the years, but none has matured to a downloadable status.

Ad 3.: Generally, vehicles from local producers tend to be common in their respective countries. Japanese and German vehicles can be found almost anywhere; other than that, the less globalised a country is, the more dominant its local producers will be. Take a browse in this sites filebase, You will find current and historic cars of Central Europe by the truckload as the modders tend to build what they have come across on their way and grown to like :) For trucks, look for MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, DAF or Iveco, those are most common around here.
