Would you break the world record for Speedmodding? Your models look already without textures beautiful

I just wanted to point a common issue that I have seen.
In the model lua files, strings are commonly written in German. The problem with this is that if the local language isn't defined in the strings.lua (or the language file), it will be displayed in German. Since more people out there are familiar with English, they wouldn't understand a S#!t...
name = _("Was bedeutet das?")
This is the String ID and will be displayed if the local language isn't defined in the strings.lua
Please write all the string ID:s in English and provide a german translation in the strings.lua. In this way any undefined language will be in English, not German. I'm sure there are people in here that can help out with German -> English translation if you feel unsure.
name = _("What does this mean?")
Strings.lua
["What does this mean?"] = "Was bedeutet das?"It will also be easier for us to translate your text to Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish.

For all mods not following this, of course it is possible to use a modified order of displaying a language: selected -> English -> fallback.
Meaning, that if the selected language is not available, first English is tested before falling back to the id.
This is especially reasonable when working with IDs that itself do not represent a possible display string.
This may be the case if the modder / dev wants to handle all strings in the strings.lua in order to only having to change this file when the description is updated. For the future, using English IDs (or english description names) definitely is the best way.

Do you mean that Train Fever or Steam Client have a fallback language option? -
fallback = id string
-
Ahh, yea I know
I thought there was a fallback language option in TF or Steam. -
Started to learn Blender which was actually quite easy, coming from 3DS Max and moving to Blender doesn't seem that bad. So started also doing Volvo Viking.
The Volvo LV66 model is finished and uvw mapped, started working with its textures
-
Oh, why did you switched to blender?
And as always - your models were looking great! With these models the truck timeline will be compleate -
Thanks! I have old version from 3DS Max and it has some issues with Windows 10. Blender can do the same and it has also tools to export models for TF which should make things bit easier.
I'm still bit slow, punching wrong quick keys and all but I'm sure it'll get easier, just need to get more experience from Blender

I am still working on the textures...

-
Was du in welches Paket stopfen willst, überlasse ich komplett dir.
Hast also alle Freigaben von mir.
Für mich ist es nur einfacher mit den Texturen für die "Roten" anzufangen. -
Almost done with the worst part.

Almost done with the worst part.
[Blockierte Grafik: http://puu.sh/mzIYB/62424967f9.jpg]Ooooh, is that "flytoget". (BM-71 and/or BM73??
-
-
It's the NSB BM73. Not sure I'm going to do the Flytoget BM71. For the BM71, I have to add another door, and I'd also have to do the texturing work. The textures for Flytoget are private property, and are also complicated. I'd rather spend the time making something else.

Whichever one it is, I like it
Also, didn't know there was much of a difference in their structure, other than the seat layout.
